Itsumo Ramen

이츠모라멘 Itsumo (何時も) is Japanese for 'always' — a notice in the shop promises the same bowl of ramen every time.

A tonkotsu ramen shop at the top of a lane in Seogyo-dong, uphill from exit 9 of Hongik Univ. Station toward the university gate. Tonkotsu ramen is 10,500 won, the spicy karai tonkotsu and tsukemen 11,000, and rice is free. There are six to eight bar seats facing an open kitchen and three or four two-person tables at the back; staff and a printed notice tell you to eat the seasoned egg first, whole, rather than stir it into the broth. You now order and pay at a kiosk outside before going in; through summer 2026 people ordered by QR while waiting in line. We read 30 posts from February 11 to October 16, 2026, and 26 of them describe actually eating there.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Expect a line at mealtimes. Eleven posts queued or saw a queue. Only one gives a time: 30 minutes, arriving at 3 p.m. on a weekend. Two mention two groups ahead, and in one of those they were seated before they'd finished choosing. Others walked straight in at 6 p.m. or right at the 5 p.m. reopening. Three posts mention chairs, and one a heater, outside for waiting.
  2. You don't order from staff. Eighteen posts ordered by machine or phone. Through July 2026 that meant a QR waiting ticket, Coupang Order, or an NFC/QR table order at the seat; from late September, ten posts paid at a kiosk outside before entering. One warns that you must choose to print the receipt, since that is your queue number.
  3. It isn't bar-only. Sixteen posts describe the bar plus tables at the back; one says every seat is at the bar. Posts count six or eight bar seats and three or four two-person tables pushed together for groups of four. Seven posts call the room small.
  4. Five posts note that you get brewed tea rather than plain water. Kimchi and pickled ginger sit at every seat for you to help yourself.
2 more
  1. Seven posts call the chashu thick; several mention it is torched for a smoky edge, and two say there was no porky smell.
  2. Eleven posts found the karai or tsukemen spicy, two did not, two were in between. One says the kiosk offered no heat level to choose.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 2 (of 23 posts read)
Toilet inside3 of 23 posts

The address says second floor, unit 202, but you enter at street level from the back lane up the hill. One post calls it the ground floor; another says don't expect to climb to a second floor. Two posts got sent to the wrong side of the building by the map and followed an arrow round.

No post says anything about a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller, though several mention the uphill walk. That means nobody wrote about it, not that it's inaccessible.

Three posts say the toilet is inside the shop. None says whether it is split by gender or wheelchair-usable, and one hints it wasn't well kept.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opening hours appear to have changed between August and September 2026. Posts through July and August say daily 11:30-21:00 with last order 20:30; nine of the eleven posts from late September say 11:30-20:30, last order 20:00. The closing days split: Monday and Tuesday in six posts, Tuesday only in two, Monday only in one, and one post notes the closing day has changed before. Two mention a 3-5 p.m. break. Most of this is copied rather than observed, so check before going.
  • Bankaimen (12,500 won) first appears in September 2026; a full menu copied in July doesn't have it, while the tori ramen drops out of most lists after late September. Prices held from February to October: tonkotsu 10,500, karai and tsukemen 11,000, mini chashu bowl 4,000. One post paid 26,500 won for two ramen and two Coke Zeros.
  • Two posts describe the walk themselves: about ten minutes uphill from Hongik Univ. Station, and a bus to the station then on foot. The '5-7 minutes from exit 9' in other posts is copied directions.
  • Six posts went as a couple, six with friends, one with a younger brother. Several noticed many solo diners, but none of the writers went alone.
  • Twelve posts copy the phone number 0507-1309-1997, but nobody reports calling. One copies 'no reservations'; nobody tried to book.
  • Three posts are tagged as sponsored, and two more read like promotional copy. Three listicle or itinerary posts covering several places were not counted as visits.
