HOOLIGAN COFFEE
훌리건 커피 Hulligeon Keopi Hooligan is the English word for a rowdy football fan; the house motto quoted on its menu is 'Let's Play Hard, Like Hooligan!'

A brunch café tucked into a Seogyo-dong alley near exits 8 and 9 of Hongik University Station. People come for the steak bomba, a steak baguette sandwich (now 18,000 won), pastas at 15,000-16,500 won and the 24,000-won Guilty Plate, then finish with a galette: a crêpe parcel topped with ice cream (12,500-14,000 won). Several posts say you order at the counter from a tablet menu and staff bring the food to your table. Seating is split between the ground floor, a basement half a flight down and a half-level above, with outdoor tables out front. We read 30 posts dated January 20 to October 23, 2026. Twenty-four describe actual visits, and we set aside four that were really about other businesses.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- Eleven posts mention the outdoor tables out front. Two sat outside themselves, and one started on the terrace before moving to a sofa table indoors. Posts also say dogs need a carrier indoors but can go freely on the terrace. That is hearsay or copied from the listing, so we did not count it.
- Eight posts noticed many foreign customers. One found the room almost entirely foreigners at weekday opening, and another watched a neighbouring foreign group photograph their galette with a DSLR.
- Eleven posts describe the room as roomy, with generous space between tables. One disagreed, saying it felt less like three big floors than a space cleverly divided up, with only one or two tables on the top level.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 4 of 24 posts |
|---|---|
| In a basement | 15 of 24 posts |
| Toilet inside | 11 of 24 posts |
| Separate restrooms | 11 of 24 posts |
Fifteen of the 24 visit posts mention seating on the lower level, described as about half a flight down. One notes a 'Bunker' sign at the foot of the stairs. One group went down because the upper floors were nearly full at Sunday lunch, and another found the basement quiet enough for easy conversation. Four posts also mention a raised level, about half a floor up.
No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is no step. Seating is spread across the basement, the ground floor and a half-level above, and posts say the restroom is up stairs, so stairs look hard to avoid. No post mentions an elevator.
Eleven posts say from their own visit that the restroom is indoors and separate for men and women. It is up a short flight of stairs, though: one post's photo caption calls them the stairs to the top tables and the restroom, and another describes passing a half-flight by the merchandise display to reach it. Nine posts call the restrooms clean, one noting no smell and a dry floor.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 26 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post reports waiting for a table. Four said it was relaxed: a quiet Monday lunch, no customers early on a weekday, room to spare on a weekend, no worry about finding a seat. One found it nearly full at Sunday lunch and went downstairs. A diary entry about a May 2025 visit said it was crowded, the food came very slowly, and the writer would not return.
- Twelve posts give opening hours, all copied from listings. Weekdays are always 11:00-20:10. For weekend closing, five posts from March-May 2026 say 21:10 and six from August-October say 20:40, while one post from September 16 still says 21:10. Weekend closing seems to have moved earlier, but we don't know when. One post says there is no day off.
- Some prices have gone up. The steak bomba was 17,000 won in two posts from April-May 2026 and 18,000 won in four from September-October. The Cheongyang bulgogi cream pasta was 16,000 won in March and 16,500 won in three posts from May on. Two posts give a whole bill: 73,000 won for two people with three brunch dishes and drinks, and 22,500 won for two Americanos and a blueberry galette. Three posts call the prices fair, while one says the desserts are not cheap.
- Many posts copy the phone number 0507-1365-0341, but none mentions actually calling. On reservations, posts repeat the same line: groups of five or more ask via the official social media account, and a table seats up to eight. No post actually booked, and one claims the café takes no reservations. One pair walked in without booking.
- Eleven of the visit posts repeat the same set of points in the same order and wording: the two parking lots, the eight-seat group table booked via social media, the free corn-cheese-fries and tiramisu promotion, and the nearby CGV and AK Plaza. Only one of them discloses sponsorship. Read the praise in that group with some caution.
