Pungyun
풍윤 Pungyun joins pung (wind, plenty) and yun (lustre, richness); one diner relays the house's own reading, 'a taste where the flow of the wind seeps in and abundance lingers.'

Pungyun is an eel grill on Yanghwa-ro 11-gil, behind Mecenatpolis, three to five minutes' walk from Hapjeong Station. It opened around January 2026. Its signature 'songyeon' freshwater eel is par-grilled over charcoal, smoked with pine needles, and finished at your table by staff; June–July posts put it at 48,000 won. Lunch brings a hitsumabushi bowl (35,000 won) and a set of grilled eel with eel soup (25,000 won in January–February, 27,000 won by May). Private rooms and screened booths make it a common pick for family dinners, friends' gatherings and dates. Posts from January–February said it stayed open until 23:00; from May on they say it closes at 22:00. We read 30 posts dated January 30 to October 8, 2026; 27 of them record an actual meal (one was about another restaurant and two only introduced the place).

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Staff do the grilling. Of 24 posts that described how the meal was served, 19 say a server grilled at the table and 14 say the eel arrived already par-grilled. The routine repeats across posts: the eel is snipped at the table, laid on the grill with leeks and mushrooms, then moved to the cooler rim or a warming shelf so it stays hot to the last piece. One October post had its tidal-flat eel grilled by the chef in the kitchen instead, and found the beef rib a little dry once it cooled.
- There are private rooms: 11 posts saw one or ate in one. A July family party that booked a room lingered over coffee and says the staff never hurried them; the October post found its windowless room a little stuffy. The main floor is repeatedly described as booths divided by screens or high seat backs. The room sizes (12 and 6 seats) come from the restaurant's own description, copied into posts.
- Three posts say food was slow. One July diner ordered hitsumabushi at noon and got it at 12:30 with no word of the delay, and had to ask for the missing dashi. A party of five ordering the same dish noted a wait, and another post advises ordering the abalone pot rice early because it takes about 20 minutes.
- Five posts say it is an easy walk from Hapjeong Station, three to five minutes, though they cite different exits (2, 9 or 1). One came by bus.

- Company is mixed: six posts went with family, five with friends, five as a couple and two as a larger group; two of the friends' outings were pre-wedding dinners.

Parking
3 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

All three posts that came by car parked at the Mecenatpolis garage across the way. The three free hours is copied from the restaurant's notice in many posts, though one July diner confirms it was applied. The October post warns the garage is so large they circled a long time looking for the exit nearest the restaurant. A February post pointed instead to the building's own lot and one nearby; a July post calls the building's basement lot cramped.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
Five posts say it is an easy walk from Hapjeong Station, three to five minutes, though they cite different exits (2, 9 or 1). One came by bus.
Getting inside
Floor: no post describes stairs or which level it is on. The address says ground floor, but no diner confirmed it.
No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether anyone got in with a wheelchair or stroller. A January post copied a 'wheelchair seating available' line from the listing, which we do not count. This means nobody wrote about it, not that access is poor.
No post says whether the toilet is inside or split by gender; one called it very clean and another noticed deodorizer spray there.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post describes queuing. Three walked straight in (a weekend lunch, a quiet Friday evening, a late dinner with the room to themselves), and one found every table taken on a weekday evening but had a booking. Eight posts say they reserved. That is not proof there is never a wait — just that nobody wrote about turning up unbooked at a busy hour.
- Six posts mention an open kitchen where you can watch the eel being par-grilled, but five of them went up between June 2 and 6, 2026 and share one template — the same header block and the same sequence of exterior, interior, grilling, side dishes, deodeok, eel soup and tartare — and none says whether it was sponsored. A February diner who paid their own way also mentions seeing the grilling up front.
- Smoke: two July posts say their eyes stung — one noted the room fills with smoke when it gets busy. No other post mentions smoke.
- Opening hours are mostly copied from the listing and have shifted. Two January–February posts give 11:30–23:00; posts from May on say it closes at 22:00. Weekdays consistently open at 11:30 with a 15:00–17:00 break and last orders at 14:10 and 21:10. Most posts say weekends open at 12:00, but one says 12:30 and one splits Saturday (11:30) from Sunday (12:00). June–July posts say there is no weekend break; the October post has weekends opening at 11:30 with a 15:00–17:00 break.
- Prices: the signature eel is listed differently across posts. A January copy of the Naver menu shows 330 g at 43,000 won and 500 g at 64,000 won; June–July posts say 48,000 won but disagree on whether that buys 500 g or one person's share, and one July post lists 400 g per person at 45,000 won. Posts mention a two-portion minimum and that one eel equals two portions. No post gives a total bill.
- Phone and booking: most posts give 0507-1325-3485; one September post also lists 02-6408-8886. One diner booked same-day through Naver, and several say the Ganghwa tidal-flat eel needs a day's notice.
- How you order is unclear: a July post noted an old-fashioned paper menu rather than a kiosk, while a September post found an electronic menu on the table. Two posts are not enough to say whether it changed.
