Kim Hyeonu Seusi

김현우스시 Kim Hyeon-u is a personal name and seusi is the Korean word for sushi, so the name simply reads 'Kim Hyeon-u Sushi'.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

Kim Hyeon-u Sushi is a set-sushi restaurant a one-to-two-minute walk from Exit 2 of Hapjeong Station along Yanghwa-ro. Sets come with cabbage salad and a small udon: ten pieces for 14,000 won, the twelve-piece special for 17,000, the chef's twelve for 21,000 and the fourteen-piece VIP for 28,000–29,000; cutlet or buckwheat-noodle lunch sets are 11,000 won and raw-fish rice bowls start at 10,000. You order on a tablet or kiosk at the table, and there is both a counter and four-seat tables. Of 25 diners' posts, 21 mention a free piece of sushi arriving mid-meal. We read 30 posts from February to October 2026; 25 describe eating there, the other five are delivery orders or multi-restaurant lists.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. It is right by the station. Sixteen of 25 diners' posts describe walking from Hapjeong Station, almost all putting it at one or two minutes from Exit 2; one post said about three minutes from Exit 1.
  2. Seating comes in two forms. Nineteen posts describe it: a long sushi counter plus tables for four or more, with some tables screened by partitions. Two posts make clear it is not counter-only; one notes there are no private rooms. Five posts mention the open kitchen where you can watch the sushi being made.
  3. Ordering is done on a device at the table: twelve posts mention a tablet or kiosk, and two say you pay at the counter on the way out. Soy sauce, pickled shallots and ginger sit on each table for self-service.
  4. Twelve posts say portions are generous — rice bowls likened to a washbasin, cold noodles big enough to seem like a full order. One post found the two-person sashimi set a little small.
3 more
  1. Eight posts say the fish is thick, describing slices long enough to drape over the rice like a blanket.
  2. There is a review promotion: ten posts took part, choosing two futomaki pieces, five takoyaki or a mini raw-fish salad.
  3. Company varies: three posts went alone, three with a partner or spouse, two in a group of colleagues, one with family and one with a friend.

Getting inside

Toilet inside4 of 25 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 25 posts

No one described which floor it is on from experience; only the address says ground floor.

No one mentions entering with a wheelchair or stroller. Two posts describe climbing steps to the entrance; no one mentions a ramp or lift.

Four posts say the restroom is inside the restaurant, one adding that it is separated by gender; they describe it as clean.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Waiting splits two to two: one diner waited briefly at 11:40 on a weekday and another about five minutes at noon, while a Saturday 11 a.m. visit and another visit walked straight in. No evening visitor mentioned a wait.
  • Speed is mixed: one weekday-lunch diner had slow food and a side dish that never came, one found service fairly quick, and one waited about fifteen minutes for sushi.
  • Four posts call the staff friendly; one, at a busy weekday lunch, says a question went unanswered.
  • Twenty-one posts give the same hours — daily 11:00–22:00, last order 21:40 — but nearly all copied them from map listings. One says there is no closing day, two say there is no afternoon break, and one says lunch sets are served only 11:00–15:00.
  • Prices for the same item differ by 1,000 won between posts: the ten-piece set is 14,000 won in four dine-in posts but 15,000 in a May 2026 receipt and a delivery order; the VIP is 29,000 in March and May posts and 28,000 in March and September ones. Because the gap does not track dates, we do not read it as a price change.
  • Many posts give the phone number as 02-322-1250. Reservations are unclear: one diner says she booked, two posts say they do not take bookings. Call ahead to check.
  • Some posts are promotional: three disclose sponsorship, and the same hashtag bundle and title pattern recur across several posts from April to October 2026. Five posts state the writer paid.
