Gimaengim Daege is a snow crab and king crab house on the third floor of 100 Yanghwa-ro, Mapo-gu, on the main road between Hapjeong and Hongik Univ. stations. You order crab by the kilo at the day's price; a run of sides comes first (abalone porridge, sashimi, fried shrimp, butter-grilled abalone, corn cheese, seaweed soup), then the crab arrives already cut. For 3,000 won a head you finish with spicy stew and fried rice made in the crab shell. King crab was 129,000 won a kilo in posts from Oct-Nov 2024 and 153,000 won in March and June 2026. What sets it apart
- The private rooms are the point of this place: 16 of the 26 meal posts mention them. Again and again people booked and were shown to a room, even as a party of two or three. A group of six found two rooms opened into one, and another post describes sliding partitions that join rooms. One post noted the rooms are not soundproof at all.
- Twelve posts say they booked ahead, mostly through Naver. Of the six that got a discount, three got Naver's 5% booking discount and three ate during the June-July 2026 anniversary offer; one bill for a 2 kg special course went from 266,800 won to 253,460 won.
- Over and over people say they were full before the crab arrived: seven posts called the portions large. Three took leftovers home, one after 'already being too full before the crab'; another said three people cannot finish 2.5 kg. One post disagreed: five people on 4.3 kg of king crab found it short of truly generous.
- Nine posts walked from the subway. Several say Hapjeong Exit 3, heading toward Hongdae, is closer than coming from Hongik Univ. station; times given ran from 3-4 to 5-10 minutes. A big crab model on the ground floor makes it easy to spot.

It is on the third floor; five posts took the lift, which opens right at the entrance and a giant crab model. Six posts describe going up to the third floor; none mentions a basement.
No one wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller; that is unknown, not absent. One post says the lift makes it easy for people with limited mobility, but it does not describe the doorway.
No post says where the toilets are or whether they are separate by gender. One post mentions a separate hand-washing station.

- Fifteen posts list hours, mostly copied from the listing: 11:30-22:00, last order 21:00, break 15:00-17:00, with seven saying the break is weekdays only. One October 2026 post gives closing as 22:30. Three say open every day, one says closed Sundays.
