Dessert Merlion is a Singaporean dessert café on the second floor of 75 Wausan-ro 27-gil, Mapo-gu, in an alley across from Seogyo Elementary near Hongik Univ. Station. You order kaya toast, kopi, pulled milk tea, yuan yang and coconut pandan cake at a kiosk and eat in. Prices in visit posts: kaya toast 4,800 won, the soft-boiled egg set 7,300 won, coconut kopi 6,500 won, yuan yang 6,000 won, pandan cake 4,500–5,800 won. What sets it apart
- Ordering is by kiosk: twelve posts say so, and three describe taking the ring-bound menu book beside it back to the table to choose. A regular since 2020 notes that ordering used to be from a paper menu before the kiosk arrived. One post adds that you return your tray to the counter.
- Four posts noticed many foreign customers — one counted three of five occupied tables. Three posts mention a large TV looping footage of Singapore streets and night views.
- Three posts waited for their order — over 20 minutes when it was busy, 10–15 minutes for the baked-to-order lava cake, and simply 'a while'. One post said it came out quickly.

The café is upstairs: eight posts say they went up to the second floor, three of them by stairs. One warns the sign is small; others give landmarks — opposite Seogyo Elementary, down the alley by a churros shop.
No one wrote about wheelchair or stroller access. Three posts climb stairs to the second floor and none mentions a lift — which means no one said, not that there isn't one.
The toilet is outside the café: two posts say so, one adding that you take a key from the counter; another says it is unisex, just outside the entrance. No one mentioned an accessible toilet.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 27 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Sweetness splits three to four: coconut kopi and the chocolate drink were called sweet, while pandan cake, coffee pudding and the lava cake were called not very sweet. It seems to depend on the item.
- Space splits three to one: three posts call it smallish, one found it roomy enough for groups. One post counted about ten tables for two to four plus a three-seat bar.
- Three posts found it quiet, but others describe it packed and bustling; it likely depends on the hour.
- Mostly no wait: three posts sat straight down (June 2025, a weekday afternoon in February 2026, a weekend in July 2026). One October 2026 regular says the wait is always the downside.
- Four posts walked from Hongik Univ. Station (exits 8 and 9). Most say about five minutes; one said 15–20 minutes.
- Opening hours: seven posts agree on 12:30–22:30 weekdays and 12:10–23:00 weekends, four of them copied from the listing. Others give a 12:00 weekend opening, 12:30–22:30 daily, 12:10–23:00 daily, and 12:10–23:30. No visit post mentions a closing day; one listicle's 'closed Mondays' matches nothing else, so we left it out.
- Prices vary a little by post. Kaya toast was 4,800 won in November 2025; a September 2026 multi-stop post's 'about 3,800 won' matches no other. Pandan cake was 4,500 won in May 2025 and 5,800 won with cream that November. One post found it pricey, one reasonable.
- The phone number 010-2654-5334 appears only in two posts' copied info boxes. No one said whether reservations are taken.
- Several posts repeat signage on the stairs and in the menu about a visit by Singapore's prime minister and ambassador and a 2017 Korea–ASEAN event; that is the shop's own claim, so we did not rely on it. Posts built from copied review counts and keywords, or containing details no one else reports, were not counted as visits.
