Bistro Seno

비스트로세노 Bistro is the French word for a small, casual restaurant; none of the posts explain what Seno means.

Compiled from 19 blog posts read in fullSources →

A small Italian bistro in an alley off Wausan-ro 29ma-gil, between exits 7 and 8 of Hongik University station. Several posts say a single chef takes orders, cooks and serves. Of the posts that record a visit, 12 ordered the truffle cream gnocchi (19,000 won) and 7 the red-shrimp aglio olio (17,000 won). Pairs mostly took the pasta set (38,000 won): bread, a small salad and two pastas or risottos. Birthdays, anniversaries and dates come up often. We read 24 posts dated February 2025 to October 2026; 19 of them record an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. This is a place to book. Eight posts say you can reserve, and seven of them did. Tables tend to go to reservations: one couple found the tables full and booked the bar instead, and another says walk-ins mostly end up at the bar. Two posts walked in. One waited about ten minutes around 1 pm on a weekend; the other came at 2:40 pm on a Friday and did not wait. Two posts note there is no queue machine or sign-up sheet at the door.
  2. There is both bar seating and table seating; eight posts make clear it is not bar-only. Three posts give the same layout: four bar seats, two tables for two and one table for four. Two others count two four-tops, and one mentions a three-seat table. Five posts call the room small. One group of four booked ahead because only one table seats four.
  3. The kitchen is open to the room, as three posts note. A solo diner watched the chef cook right in front of her, and another post says the chef handled greeting, cooking and serving alone.
  4. Seven posts call the owner kind, and they name specific things. He took an order after last orders, wrote a birthday message in sauce and added a crêpe cheesecake and a glass of white wine, handed out a hand warmer on a cold day, swapped the lasagna sheets for pasta, and gave a couple homemade gaeseong juak for their anniversary.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 19 posts

Don't count on parking. One post from a visit says there was no parking space. Two other posts copy listing info ('no parking'; Hongik University's Hongmungwan garage at 9,000 won for two hours), which we did not count. Several posts say it's an easy walk from Hongik University station.

Getting inside

Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 19 posts read)

We are not sure what level it is on. The address says basement level 1, but one April 2026 post says it sits on the ground floor and was easy to find. No post mentions going down stairs or being underground.

We don't know whether the entrance has a step or stairs, or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. Nobody wrote about it, which is not the same as saying there is no barrier.

Only one post mentions the restroom: in February 2025 it said the toilet is outside the restaurant and a bit inconvenient. Nobody says whether there are separate men's and women's rooms.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 24 posts we gathered, 5 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • You can bring wine, but no one says corkage is free; an April 2026 post says it was 10,000 won a bottle. That is the only mention.
  • All the opening hours in these posts are copied from listings. Six give the same times: noon to 11 pm, a 3:30 to 5 pm break, last orders at 9 pm. Tuesday is the one day they disagree on: closed (February 2025, January and February 2026), lunch only from noon to 3:30 pm (October 2025), or open every day (September 2026). Check before going on a Tuesday.
  • Prices stayed the same across the posts. The pasta set is 38,000 won in October 2025, March 2026 and August 2026, and single pastas and risottos run 17,000 to 19,000 won. Two couples paid 40,000 and 45,000 won for a set plus a drink. Three posts found it good value; one felt about 22,500 won a head for lunch was a lot. The steak set was 82,000 won in February 2026.
  • Three posts give the same phone number, 0507-1378-2085. They disagree on how to book: several used CatchTable, a June 2026 post said there was no Naver booking, and a September 2026 post booked through Naver.
  • We did not rely on three write-ups. Two (April and August 2026) share a template that rewrites listing info and review keywords; the third names dishes but carries hashtags for a different neighborhood.
