백리곰탕 Baengni means 'a hundred ri', an old Korean measure of distance; the shop's own line, quoted in many posts, is that this is a bowl you still think of a hundred ri away.

A Korean-beef gomtang house that opened in September 2026 in an alley off Wausan-ro 29-gil, near Exit 7 of Hongik University station. The clear beef soup (12,000 won, large 15,000) comes with the rice already in it, in a brass bowl, with a single sprout ginseng on top; there is also raw-beef bibimbap (13,000), beef hot pot (39,000/49,000), yukhoe, boiled beef, beef patties and makgeolli by the glass (2,000). Nine posts said you order from a tablet at the table. We read 30 posts, from September 16 to October 12, 2026, and every one is a real visit. But they all landed in the first month, with near-identical titles, phrases and order, so they read like a promotional campaign, and only one disclosed sponsorship.

What sets it apart
- The shop measures the soup's salinity each day and posts it on a board; the readings posts copied down were 0.53, 0.53% and 0.46%. Six posts said it was not salty and none said it was; one writer added no salt at all. Several noted salt and pepper on the table to season to taste.
- Eighteen posts called the portions large, mostly about the meat in the soup; one who ordered the large size said there was still meat left at the last spoonful and the regular would have done. No post called it small.
- Seventeen posts mentioned a free photo machine at the entrance that prints black-and-white receipt-style photos; one said it is one print per person, another that a sign asks you to use it after eating.

No post mentions getting in with a wheelchair or stroller; that is unknown, not a no. One said the shop sits about a floor and a half up, reached by stairs on the left; another said it is on a small rise. We do not know whether there is a step-free way in.
Five posts said the toilet is inside the shop; one said it is unisex. Nobody mentioned an accessible toilet.

What we do not know
- Posts split on size: three called it spacious, three called it small. One counted two four-seat sofa booths, four four-seat tables and two two-seat tables; another said about eight tables. There is a partitioned inner area and window seats.
- Two posts found the gomtang sold out, on the evenings of September 30 and October 4, and ate yukhoe or bibimbap instead.
- No post reports queueing. One found it nearly full at Monday lunch but was seated at once; some advise going early at lunch. That means nobody has written about waiting yet, not that there is never a wait.
- Seven posts went with family, six alone, four as a couple, one with five coworkers and one with a friend. Two brought children; one said staff brought a baby spoon and a broth for the baby and left out the scallions.
- Twenty posts listed hours, nearly all copied. Eighteen agree on 11:00-22:00 daily, break 15:00-17:00, last order 21:00. The earliest post (September 16) alone said 23:00 with last order 22:00, and one said 21:00. One added a regular Thursday closing and one said there is no break on Saturday-Monday; no other post says either.
- Prices copied from the menu agree across posts (soup 12,000, bibimbap 13,000, hot pot 39,000/49,000 won); one post put the bibimbap at 12,000 but had not photographed the menu. A bowl of soup is a 12,000-won meal; four posts called it reasonable and one found the dumplings a bit pricey. The free lunch makgeolli and review-event patties are opening promotions, and we do not know how long they will last.
- Many posts give the same phone number, 02-6489-3383. Reservations, private hire, groups of 8-10 and one free corkage bottle all come from copied listings; no post actually booked.
