Huiyeol

희열 Huiyeol (喜悅) means joy or delight; one post spells it out as the characters for 'glad' and 'pleased'.

Compiled from 24 blog posts read in fullSources →

Huiyeol's Seocho–Gyodae branch is a Korean beef-rib and pot-rice restaurant in the basement of 1 Beobwon-ro 1-gil, between Gyodae Station exit 10 and Seocho Station exit 8. Lunch is a coursed set of porridge, pancakes, seven side dishes, pot rice, doenjang stew and omija tea (35,000 won for marinated rib, 45,000 for Korean beef rib, 55,000 for braised short rib, per person); at dinner five posts ordered the 99,000-won set for two of 200 g flower-cut rib with seaperch pot rice and stew. Fifteen posts said the meat is grilled in the kitchen and brought out on a hot stone, and there is free puffed corn by the exit. We read 24 posts from 26 June to 14 October 2026, all from actual visits; three said they paid their own way and the other 21 said nothing about payment.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You do not grill at the table: fifteen posts said the meat is cooked in the kitchen. Several described the flower-cut rib arriving medium-rare or rare and finishing it to taste on the hot stone. A recurring point was that clothes don't come away smelling of smoke, which makes it workable for a weekday lunch.
  2. Twenty-two posts mention private rooms, and one couple was shown into one with just the two of them. Posts said rooms can be joined by opening partitions. One noted you keep your shoes on. The 'up to 24 people' figure is the restaurant's own, repeated by bloggers.
  3. Opinion on price splits four to five: four posts called it expensive, five called it fair for what you get. Lunch sets run 35,000–55,000 won per person, pot-rice dishes 20,000–29,000, and the dinner grill set 99,000 for two. One pair spent 102,000 won on two lunch sets, an extra portion of rib and a cola.
  4. Three posts saw high chairs; none of the 24 actually brought a child.

Parking

Posts saying you can park5 of 24 posts

Five posts parked in the surface lot in front, and three said there was room — one counted about two free spaces on a weekday evening. Nobody described parking at lunchtime. The overflow public lot and its rate (400 won per five minutes; one post said 500) are copied from the restaurant's information.

Getting inside

In a basement11 of 24 posts
Lift to the floor5 of 24 posts
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 2 (of 24 posts read)
Separate restrooms3 of 24 posts

It is one floor down: eleven posts described going into the basement. Five said you can take the stairs from the street entrance or use the elevator in the adjoining building, which leads to a different entrance; one warned the building is sometimes locked at weekends and you have to ask the guard. Several said it doesn't feel cramped for a basement. One post captioned its photos '1st floor', which we set aside given the address and the other posts.

No one said whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. We only know there is an elevator alternative to the stairs, not whether the route from it is step-free.

Two posts said the toilets are just outside the restaurant, right by the door, and three said they are separate for men and women. One post's information block says they are inside, but that is copied text and we did not count it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Sweetness splits four to three: four found the braised rib or rib pot rice sweet, three said the marinated grilled rib was not overly sweet. They were often describing different dishes.
  • No post mentions waiting for a table. Two said the room was full at lunch, but none said whether they queued; three booked ahead. That is an absence of reports, not evidence there is no wait.
  • Seventeen posts gave identical hours — Monday to Saturday 11:00–21:30, break 15:00–17:00, last orders 14:00 and 20:30, closed Sundays — mostly copied from the listing. Several said Saturdays are by reservation, and one called weekend hours unclear. For a Saturday visit, check by phone (0507-1411-4465) or through Naver or CatchTable booking first.
  • Posts from 6 September to 14 October 2026 repeat the same search phrases in titles and hashtags and copy the same hours, parking, corkage and room details in the same order. They look commissioned, though none discloses sponsorship. Free corkage for two bottles, top-grade beef and 48-hour ageing are the restaurant's claims; one post actually brought its own whisky.
