Mankin Pub is a Japanese-style bar on the second floor of a building on Dongmak-ro 15-gil, a few minutes' walk from exit 1 of Sangsu station. Counter seats wrap around a central bar, and Japanese and Japanese-speaking staff start the conversation — the place sells itself on small talk. Prices in the posts: highball 5,000 won, Suntory Premium Malt's draft 7,000, most cocktails 7,000, sours 6,000, karaage 12,000. Guests must order one drink per hour. We read 30 posts from April 2025 to October 2026; 29 describe visits (July 2025 to October 2026), and one is a line in a list of restaurants that opened in March 2025.

What sets it apart
- It is a counter bar. Fourteen posts say there are no tables, only the bar; one (September 2025) says there are some table seats but mostly counter, and another says 'mostly bar seating'. A group of four sat in a row and left after one drink each, about 30 minutes, because they would have preferred a table.
- There is a one-drink-per-hour rule, mentioned in 8 posts: if you order nothing for an hour, 5,000 won per hour is added. A September 2025 post says the rule pops up as the first screen of the QR menu.
- Cheapness is the most common remark: 25 posts call it cheap or easy on the wallet. Almost every post gives 5,000 won for a highball; one July 2026 post wrote 5,500. A January 2026 receipt shows highball 5,000, draft 7,000, matcha high 7,000, Sui soda 7,000 and karaage 12,000 — about 38,000 won for a round for two.
- There is an electronic dart machine at the back, mentioned in 23 posts; one says a game cost 3,000 won. Several posts saw the owner or staff playing darts with guests for drinks. Some say staff taught them card or dice games, but we did not count that as a board-game shelf.

- Twenty-one posts found the staff friendly. Two say staff ask your name when you sit and write it on your tab, and several say staff recommend drinks if you describe your taste. One post says the manager is a Korean-Japanese who speaks both languages.
- Fourteen posts say it is a short walk from Sangsu station — 'about 2 minutes', '3 minutes', 'within 5 minutes'. One says the corner building is easy to find; another says the side stairway is dark enough to make you wonder if you're in the right place.
- Seven posts mention the big windows that let you see inside from the street; one says the folding windows are opened on fine days.
- Of the posts that say who they came with: alone 4, with friends 5, as a couple 4, a group of four former colleagues 1. Many posts noticed plenty of solo guests.
- Two posts mention waiting, with different results: a Saturday night in November 2025 had a short queue that cleared around 10 pm as people left; a weekday around 8 pm the same month found two seats left and no wait. A claim that weekends after 9 pm have a queue was hearsay and not counted.
- Two posts saw Japanese guests that night, one chatting with them. Many more say Japanese customers come, but mostly as hearsay, which we did not count.

It is upstairs, not in a basement: 6 posts mention climbing stairs or a 'not very high' second floor, and 5 say there are steps up to the door — 'four or five steps, then the door on the right', 'half a flight up at the side'. No post mentions a lift.
No post says whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in; five mention steps up to the entrance.
The toilet is inside — 5 posts say so, 2 of them noting it is unisex. Two found it clean; one noticed the men's urinal seemed to be blocked off.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Posts disagree on ordering: 7 say you order through the QR code at your seat, 3 say the QR only shows the menu and you tell the staff.
- Noise is a split: 3 posts found it quiet or not rowdy, 1 heard a boisterous crowd from outside, and one noted the lights dimmed and the music got louder late at night.
- Opening hours: 26 posts agree on 6 pm to 3 am daily, mostly copied from listing info; one saw a 'open every day of the year' sign at the stairway. One post wrote 6 to 8 pm, which we take as a typo.
- The phone number 0507-1428-8346 appears only in copied listing info, and no post says it booked by phone; one post's info box suggests reserving via Instagram DM.
- Promotional posts are mixed in. Four disclose sponsorship; the line 'a Sangsu hot spot newly launched by the operator of a popular Sinchon pub' recurs in close to ten posts, and three posts from November 2025 and October 2026 order exactly the same five items. We treat that line as the house's own pitch, not as evidence.
