TOVE

한강 토오베 Hangang Toobe Hangang is the Han River, which this fourth-floor tea room looks straight out over; Tove (토오베) is the name of the tea-room brand, and none of the posts explain what it means.

Hangang Tove is a tea room on the fourth floor of the Seogang 8-gyeong Building, 128 Tojeong-ro in Sangsu-dong, Mapo. It is the third Tove after Anguk (Insadong) and the City Hall arcade; several posts say it soft-opened on 28–30 August 2026 and opened properly on 1 September. There is no coffee: Taiwanese and Chinese teas run 12,000–16,000 won, non-alcoholic cocktails 15,000, the classic cake 9,000 and the fig shaved ice around 20,000. Staff bring the menu to your seat and you pay first at the counter; several posts say hot teas come with one more pour of water. We read 30 posts dated 1 September 2025 to 9 October 2026; two were about other Tove branches, and 24 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The windows decide where you sit. Nine posts describe the Han River through floor-to-ceiling glass, with the red arch of Seogang Bridge to the left and Yeouido toward the glass door. One post counts five two-person tables along the window with rows of two- and four-seaters behind, and several say the window seats were taken first even on weekday afternoons. One writer saw it differently, finding the room a little dark.
  2. Waiting depends on when you go. Four posts waited, all from the soft opening or the first week: plenty of people in line, a queue forming as soon as one writer sat down, one team already ahead twenty minutes before a weekday opening. Eight posts walked straight in, on weekday afternoons and over the Chuseok holiday. Several say you join the queue on a CatchTable tablet at the door, and one says seating is limited to 90 minutes when there is a queue.
  3. Five posts point out there is no coffee — only tea, mocktails, desserts and some whisky and wine for the evening. Three posts note a one-drink-per-person minimum.
  4. Price comes up again and again: six posts call it expensive, one calling it Tove's only flaw and the priciest of the three branches, though several add that the river view justifies it.

Posts saying you can park1 of 22 posts

One post says the building's underground car park costs 3,000 won for the first hour and valet is 3,000 won, but nobody wrote that they actually drove and parked; other parking notes are copied info.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 5 (of 22 posts read)
Lift to the floor5 of 22 posts
Toilet inside3 of 22 posts
Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 2 (of 22 posts read)

It is on the fourth floor, not a basement, and five posts took the lift; several mention seeing the river from the lift itself. One post warns that the button for this floor reads "F" rather than 4 and admits getting off on the wrong floor. The entrance is the hot-pink door.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller; we only know there is a lift. A no-kids rule appears only in copied info blocks and an introductory post, so we did not count it.

Three posts say the restroom is inside, toward the back, and two of them describe it as a single unisex stall; they found it clean and new.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • The fig shaved ice price is inconsistent: 23,000 won in a post from 12 September 2026, 20,000 won in one from 8 October, and another just says "20,000-something". We cannot tell from the posts whether it was cut or misreported.
  • Twelve posts give opening hours of 12:00–21:30 with last orders at 21:00, mostly copied from info blocks. One soft-opening post and one October post say it opens at 13:00, and another October post says 12:00–21:00 with last orders at 20:00. No post mentions a closing day.
  • Two posts walked from Sangsu Station; the copied directions differ — exit 3 at 7–8 minutes in some, exit 4 at 9 minutes in another.
  • Apart from three posts that went with friends, we know little about who people came with; no one wrote about going with family, children or a partner. That means nobody said so, not that nobody does.
  • Two posts list the phone number 02-7777-8888, but no one booked by phone. One post recommends booking or queueing ahead on CatchTable at weekends; table bookings for the fireworks festival are known only from a shop announcement.
  • One writer was told by staff that the outdoor terrace is only for those ordering alcohol, and another heard the same. The first writer also found the window seats faced terrace seats through the glass at close range, which felt awkward.
