Gimdeokhuui Gopchangjo Hongdae Bonjeom

김덕후의곱창조 홍대본점 Deokhu is Korean slang for a devoted fan or geek, gopchang is grilled beef small intestine, and jo can mean a crew — roughly 'Kim the Fanatic's Gopchang Crew'; the Hongdae flagship (bonjeom).

Compiled from 9 blog posts read in fullSources →

A beef-gopchang grill house at Wausan-ro 51-9, ground floor, near Sangsu Station — the Hongdae flagship of the Kim Deokhu chain. The all-you-can-eat set (Korean-beef small intestine, large intestine, abomasum, heart, brisket and deokhu rice) is 26,800 won per person, and 150 g single orders are available (Korean-beef gopchang 17,900 won). Every table gets a soft-tofu stew, and the fried rice comes in an old tin lunchbox. We read 27 posts from January 2025 to October 2026; 16 were about other Kim Deokhu branches or sister shops and were set aside, leaving 9 first-hand visits (April 2025 to September 2026).

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Seven of the visit posts say a soft-tofu stew comes free with the meal. Staff crack a raw egg into it at the table once it boils, and one diner liked it enough to ask for a refill.
  2. Five posts mention terrace seating, from April 2025 through September 2026, likened to an outdoor street-stall setup. One March 2026 post counted only about five tables inside and three on the terrace.
  3. Three posts saw foreign diners. One mentions a spot to leave luggage, and one saw a foreign-language menu on the wall.
  4. Three posts found no off odour in the offal, and two found the heart, brisket and abomasum thick and chewy.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

No post describes the floor beyond the '1st floor' in the address; the basement shop people mention is a different branch (Hongdae branch 4).

Nobody wrote about steps at the entrance or wheelchair and stroller access — this means unknown, not absent.

No post says where the toilet is or whether it is separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 11 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Posts split on whether staff grill for you: three say they did, one says it was grill-it-yourself, and one is unclear. Several agree staff cut the meat into pieces at the start.
  • Waits depend on the hour. Two posts waited — about 20 minutes around 7 pm in September 2026, with a waiting area, and again on a weekday around 9 to 10 pm. One weekday visit around 5 pm found it nearly empty, while another found it almost full by 4 pm.
  • Six posts give the all-you-can-eat price as 26,800 won and two from mid-August 2026 give 26,900 won; posts from both July and September say 26,800, so we do not read it as a price change. One pair paid about 31,800 won each with a bottle of soju and beer; another paid 72,800 won for two sets plus rice, cold noodles and two highballs. Two posts mention a free drink for a receipt review.
  • Of nine visits, four were with friends, one with siblings and one with a partner; none mention children.
  • Seven posts give the hours as daily 15:00 to 23:30, mostly copied from listings; none mention a closing day or last order. 'Reservations available' also appears only in copied blocks — no one wrote about booking. Six posts give the phone number 0507-1468-0745.
