Japanese

Boram Nowon Jigyeongjeom

보람 노원직영점 Boram means a sense of reward or something worth the effort — the house slogan reads 'the reward of one bowl, felt through taste and care'; this is the Nowon branch of the Gongneung-dong original.

Compiled from 6 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Japanese rice-bowl shop that opened in September 2026 in the lane beside the Nowon post office, across from Nowon-gu Office — the second, company-run branch of Boram in Gongneung-dong. The signature is a straw-grilled sea-eel bowl (14,000 won for the standard), eaten in steps laid out on a card at each table: wrapped in gamtae seaweed, then finished with poured kelp broth. Butadon, yakitori-don, mackerel ochazuke (13,000 won) and a pork-cutlet curry (14,000 won) round out the menu. We read 16 posts dated December 2024 to October 2026; 7 are about this shop and 6 describe an actual meal, all posted between October 6 and 14, 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Three posts said the portions are large — one finished a bowl despite 'a huge amount of rice', another called the mackerel ochazuke more generous than expected. No post called them small.
  2. Two posts say the owner brought extra gamtae seaweed unprompted once they had used theirs up.
  3. Three posts describe the staff or owner as kind. Because the bowls come with a multi-step way of eating, one post says staff came to the table to explain it, and another watched the owner crouch down to walk an elderly customer through each step.
  4. Two posts mention dedicated solo-dining seats alongside group tables.

The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place

Parking

1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park1 of 6 posts

Parking is contested. One post says there is room for about one car right beside the shop and plenty of public pay lots nearby; another post copied the shop's listing, which says no parking. We don't count the copied listing, but if you drive, plan on a nearby pay lot.

Where it is

Map showing where Boram Nowon Jigyeongjeom is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

2 posts say it is walkable from the station.

Getting inside

No post described the floor or any steps from experience. The address says ground floor, but no visitor confirmed it.

We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in — not because there isn't access, but because no one wrote about it.

No post said where the toilet is or whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 7 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Two posts say it is close to Nowon Station on Line 7; one gives the route — out of Exit 6, in past the KFC building, and it is right by the post office. No one said how long the walk took.
  • No post reports waiting. One only guessed that lunch must get busy, and all six visits fall within the first month after opening, so we don't know what peak-hour waits look like.
  • Only two posts said who they went with, both family (a husband and son; a mother). No post records going with friends, a date, or alone.
  • Opening hours were copied into three posts. Two give 11:00-20:30 with a 15:00-17:00 break, last order 19:40, closed Sundays; one says open daily, which conflicts. One post says Saturdays and holidays open at 11:30. All three are copied listings, not observations.
  • Only two posts list prices (sea-eel bowl 14,000 won, mackerel ochazuke 13,000, cutlet curry 14,000, lemonade 5,000, Suntory highball 8,000), so a bowl plus a drink runs around 20,000 won. No one gave prices for the freshwater-eel bowl, butadon or yakitori-don.
  • Only one post gives a phone number (0507-1345-2913). No one said whether reservations are taken.
  • Of the six visit posts, only one says the writer paid; the other five don't say. Two of them share the same order, wording and structure and look like they came from the same template. All six were posted within nine days of each other, right after opening.
