Yeouido Samgyetang

여의도삼계탕 코엑스점 Yeouido is a district of Seoul and samgyetang is whole young chicken simmered with ginseng and glutinous rice; the brand also has branches in Yeouido, Yongsan and Gwanghwamun, and this one is in COEX.

A samgyetang house at the far end of the basement-2 food court in the Oakwood Premier hotel, linked to the COEX mall. The pine-nut samgyetang, its broth thick with ground Gapyeong pine nuts, is 19,000 won; mung-bean samgyetang is 22,000, cheese boneless braised chicken for two 38,000, rotisserie chicken 22,000, and there is a list of traditional liquors. The glutinous rice comes in its own bowl rather than inside the bird. Three visit posts say the same company reopened the former Hongsugye Jjimdak space under this name. We read 22 posts from 22 April to 14 October 2026; 19 of them describe a visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Ten posts say side dishes are refilled from a self-serve bar; several list the three as radish kimchi, napa kimchi and pickled celtuce.
  2. Five posts found the portions large: three people shared the two-person cheese braised chicken, and one post left glass noodles behind. One post disagreed, calling the bird in the pine-mushroom samgyetang small and the portion meagre.
  3. Ten posts call the room clean, some putting it down to the shop opening only in April; two mention partitions between tables.
  4. Three posts came with family, two of them with children, who asked for the braised chicken not spicy and got it that way. One post saw high chairs. Two came as couples, one with friends, one as a work group.
1 more
  1. Three posts say they did not wait: no queue at lunch, almost none except on boknal days, quiet even at 1 p.m. on a weekend. None reports waiting. One post claims weekday lunch is full, but that writer went on a weekday evening.

Getting inside

In a basement7 of 19 posts
Lift to the floor1 of 19 posts

Seven posts describe going down to the basement: one took the stairs by Haidilao, another took a lift down one floor from COEX's first basement. One post says basement 1; the rest say basement 2.

No one wrote about a step at the door or entering with a wheelchair or stroller. One post copies the shop's 'wheelchair-accessible entrance' listing, which we do not count. That means unknown, not absent.

No one said whether the toilet is inside the restaurant; the 'separate men's and women's toilets' line is copied in one post. We do not know.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 21 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Ordering changed: the April 2026 post ordered from staff because table tablets were not ready yet; six posts from September on ordered on the tablet at each table.
  • Opening hours changed. Two April 2026 posts give 11:00 to 21:00 with a 15:00 to 17:00 break on weekdays only, and a 9 July post gives a 15:00 to 16:30 break. From 19 July, 11 posts agree on 10:30 to 21:00 daily, break 15:00 to 16:00, last order 20:30, mostly copied from the shop's listing.
  • Opinions on price split: two posts call it expensive, one finds 80,000 to 90,000 won for four reasonable, and one went from thinking it pricey to thinking it worth it. One July post lists the pine-nut samgyetang at 18,000 won; all others say 19,000.
  • Two posts came by transit: one by bus to the COEX east gate, one walking about ten minutes from Samseong Station exit 5. The '572 m from exit 5' line in many posts is copied. Several posts say the place is hard to find even inside COEX.
  • Eight posts give the phone number 0507-1369-7005; two April posts give 02-554-7005. One post says Naver bookings are taken for parties of three or more and another saw reserved tables; one April post said Naver booking was not available.
  • Eight posts from September and October 2026 share the same phrasing, the same shop info block and the same order (cheese braised chicken for two, liquor sampler, review event) in the same sequence; only two disclose sponsorship. Read praise from that stretch with that in mind. One July 'column' contradicts the other posts on too much to count as a visit.
