Obongjip Samseong-jeom
오봉집 삼성점 Obong is a colloquial word for a serving tray — the side dishes and seaweed soup arrive on a large round metal tray — and jip means house.

Obongjip Samseong is a branch of the octopus-and-bossam franchise, on the ground floor of an alley off Teheran-ro 81-gil, across from COEX. Side dishes and seaweed soup come on a large metal tray, and you top up sides, rice and soup from a self-serve bar. Thirteen of the 17 visits ordered the octopus special (62,000 won: stir-fried octopus for two, a small bossam and tray buckwheat noodles); on weekday lunchtimes there are specials such as a bossam plate at 11,000 won and octopus stir-fry at 13,000 won. We read 30 posts dated 18 September to 22 October 2026; 17 of them describe eating here. The other 13 were other branches (Gangnam Station, Seolleung), link-only mentions in posts about other places, franchise news and a directory. Two of the 17 disclosed sponsorship.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Fourteen posts topped up sides, rice or soup at the self-serve bar. Several say free rice and soup is a lunchtime thing: one says weekday lunch, while three went at weekend lunch and still helped themselves. The one dinner visit had to order rice separately. One post was told the special doesn't include rice but you may take it from the bar.
- Nine posts mention green-plum juice set out by the door or counter to drink after the meal; none mention paying for it. Several also note toothpicks, floss and hair ties left in the same spot, and two saw a phone charger.
- Ten posts describe the receipt-review offer — fried stuffed peppers or a no-blank paper lottery. One post says it actually received the peppers.
- Ten posts call the room large or say there are plenty of seats; one liked that the tables are big enough for all the plates. Two mention a private room at the back (one says it holds 15). One found the backed chairs comfortable.
7 more
- Eight posts say portions are large. Of the special, one said it is too much for two and suits three or four; another said it was enough for three.
- Six posts found the octopus stir-fry spicy, one self-described spice-averse diner found it milder than expected, and one called it moderately hot without settling either way. One post lists four heat levels from mild to 'hell'; another asked for it less spicy.
- Two posts waited, both at weekends; one arrived at opening and found it already full. One weekday visit got a table at the start of lunch but watched it fill up; a Monday dinner group had booked and found only one or two tables left. No post gives a wait in minutes.
- Six posts say it is easy by subway: about 5 minutes on foot from exit 5 of Samseong Jungang (Line 9) and 10–13 minutes from exit 5 of Samseong (Line 2).
- Four posts ordered on the tablet at each table.
- Two posts came with a young child. One says there are no high chairs and they brought a portable one to set on the restaurant chair; the other fed their child rice in the seaweed soup with laver flakes instead of ordering a kids' meal.
- Four posts came with family, two as a couple, and two with friends (one of them a birthday group of six).

Seven posts say there is no parking of its own; they point to paid lots nearby such as Samseong-dong First Parking Tower, and one called the fee steep.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Six posts say it is easy by subway: about 5 minutes on foot from exit 5 of Samseong Jungang (Line 9) and 10–13 minutes from exit 5 of Samseong (Line 2).
Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 2 (of 17 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 1 of 17 posts |
| Separate restrooms | 2 of 17 posts |
Two posts note from their visit that the restaurant is on the ground floor.
No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That is unknown, not a no.
Two posts say the toilets are separate for men and women; one of them adds that they are inside the restaurant.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Thirteen posts list opening hours, almost all copied from Naver: mostly 11:00–22:00 on weekdays and 11:30–22:00 at weekends, with a weekday break 14:30–17:00 (8 posts) and a weekend break 15:00–16:00 (7). Three give last orders at 21:30 weekdays and 21:00 weekends. One says there is no weekend break; others give a single break of 15:00–17:00 or 15:00–16:00. No post mentions a regular closing day.
- Only the 62,000-won special is a price several visitors paid and agreed on. Most lunch and side prices come from one post's menu table, which says it was compiled from other reviewers' menu photos. A 29 September 2026 visitor noted the in-store prices differed from the Naver menu but did not say what changed. For a meal, one post paid 24,000 won for two at a weekday lunch.
- Eight posts give the phone number as 0507-1302-1529; one gives 02-558-1529. One post (a Monday dinner for six) booked ahead; the Naver booking option is copied information.
- There are several branches nearby. Posts about the Gangnam Station (Teheran-ro 6-gil) and Seolleung (Teheran-ro 55-gil) branches are not counted here; one writer went to Samseong first and then on to Gangnam. One post saw celebrity autographs on the wall and one saw foreign diners, but lines like 'praised by YouTubers' are repeated claims and not counted.
