Jaesudon Gamjatang Samseong

재수돈 감자탕 삼성점 Gamjatang is a pork-backbone and potato stew; the posts never explain 'Jaesudon', which reads as jaesu (luck) plus don (pork, or money).

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

Jaesudon Gamjatang Samseong sits across the street from the west side of COEX, opposite the Oakwood Premier, filling two floors of a building on Teheran-ro 87-gil. Besides gamjatang and single-bowl backbone soup it serves a soy-braised backbone (ppyeojjim) and a spicy grilled one (ppyeogui); October 2026 posts put the soup at 9,000 won, the small braise or grill at 38,000 and the small gamjatang at 36,000. Listed hours run from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., so it covers office lunches, late drinking and group dinners in the upstairs rooms. We read thirty posts from June 19 to October 14, 2026; four were about the Cheongdam branch or the bar in the basement and were dropped, one was a slot in a neighborhood list and not counted, and twenty-five describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Twelve posts mention partitioned rooms on the second floor. One noted the rooms differ in size, so headcount matters when booking, and that the end room has a full window. Another said the ground-floor four-tops have partitions while the two-tops do not.
  2. The backbone soup costs 9,000 won. Eleven posts called that cheap, one marveling that such a place still exists, and none called anything expensive. One couple paid 47,000 won for a small grilled backbone plus a soup. Fried rice and sesame-oil rice are 3,000 won each.
  3. The braise is sweet; the grill is hot. Of thirteen posts calling something sweet, eleven meant the soy-braised backbone, several comparing it to jjimdak or galbijjim, and two found sweetness behind the grill's heat. One family said a child who avoids spicy food happily ate the braise.
  4. Six of the seven posts that call the food spicy are about the grilled backbone: the heat builds as you eat, one boyfriend was drenched in sweat, one child could barely eat it. On the braise, one post found it spicy and two said it was not.
3 more
  1. Seventeen posts say the portions are large: five big bones in a small gamjatang, a small grill that is anything but small, a family who once ordered two soups and could barely finish one. One post left most of a braise uneaten.
  2. Five posts say you order from a tablet at the table or a kiosk. The free bowl of broth with the braise appears only in Cheongdam-branch posts, so we did not count it here.
  3. No post reports waiting; two walked straight in, and one noticed a CatchTable waitlist at the door. Evenings are busy, though: the ground floor was full on weekdays at 6 and after 7, and one post found it packed at 10:30 p.m.

Posts saying you can park2 of 25 posts

Parking is contested. Five copied info blocks say no parking. Among visitors, one says three or four cars fit out front with 5,000-won valet, one says there is parking, and one calls the space by the entrance tight and suggests calling ahead.

Getting inside

Second floor20 of 25 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 5 (of 25 posts read)
Toilet inside1 of 25 posts

Seating runs over two floors. Twenty visit posts mention the upper floor, and four say the ground floor was full at dinnertime (6 p.m., after 7, an early weekend evening) so they were sent upstairs. One found the second floor much quieter than the first; another described the upstairs windows as floor-to-ceiling with an almost forest view. Three posts say they took the stairs up.

No one says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. Three posts took the stairs to the second floor and none mentions an elevator; that is silence, not evidence there is none.

Only one post mentions the restroom: inside the restaurant and clean. Separate men's and women's rooms appear only in a copied info block, which we do not count.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices went up. A June 2026 post had small gamjatang at 33,000 and small grill at 37,000 won, an August post had the large grill at 49,000; October posts list 36,000, 38,000 and 51,000. The 9,000-won soup appears only in October, so we do not know its earlier price. One post gave the small braise as 37,000 won, and another wrote both 38,000 and 36,000 in the same review.
  • Eighteen posts give the same hours, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. with last orders at 1:30, mostly copied from the listing; one says there is no closing day. One post showed 24-hour opening, but that block came from a listing with a different address and phone number, so we set it aside.
  • Several posts give the phone number as 02-554-3584. One says groups of eight or more should call to book, and one saw a reservation device at the entrance for when there is a wait.
  • Twenty-one of the twenty-five visit posts fall within two weeks, October 2 to 14, 2026, and three share an identical string of five hashtags. None discloses sponsorship, though one says it visited through a 'good opportunity'. TV appearances and the '30 years in Majang-dong' line are the house's own claims or hearsay, and we do not rely on them.
