Noodle houseKorean

Gyeonggiok

경기옥 Named for the Gyeonggi (京基) Building it occupies — one diner was told the owner owns the building — with -ok, an old word for an eating house; the hanja differ from Gyeonggi Province.

Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Pyeongyang-style cold noodle house that opened in May 2026 in the basement of the Gyeonggi Building, right by Euljiro 1-ga Station exit 3. Pyeongyang and spicy bibim noodles are 15,000 won, perilla-oil noodles 16,000, raw-beef bibim noodles 18,000; people add boiled beef (half plate 17,000), chilled pork or dumplings, and in the evening grilled short rib (29,000 a portion) or bulgogi hot pot. Side dishes are refilled at a self-serve bar. We read 30 posts from May 23 to October 7, 2026; 28 describe a visit. Two October posts report new dishes, minari salad and dumpling soup.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. There are closed private rooms, mentioned in 11 posts; one says a partition opens them into a group space, another that there is room for coats and bags. One diner was told by phone that the six-seat room needs a 150,000 won minimum order and the larger room 180,000 won, though they weren't sure they remembered right.
  2. Portions are large: 11 posts say so, one noting that even big eaters at the table found the raw-beef noodles hard to finish.
  3. Six posts say kkakdugi and pickled radish are refilled at a self-serve bar, where aprons are kept too.
  4. Lunch can mean a short wait. Two posts waited: five groups ahead around noon but in within ten minutes, and about 15 minutes at 11:30 on a weekday. One says seats open up after 12:30; one mentions chairs at the entrance for waiting.

Parking

1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 27 posts

One post says there is no parking but plenty of paid lots nearby. Two others repeat 'no parking / use public lots' in copied info blocks; one claiming parking is available copied another building's details, so we ignored it.

Getting inside

In a basement11 of 27 posts
Toilet inside2 of 27 posts
Separate restrooms2 of 27 posts

You go downstairs to eat: 11 posts describe heading to the basement. One notes that the stairs on the Starbucks side lead to the back door, not the main entrance; another says it is bright and doesn't smell like a basement.

No one wrote about a step at the door, wheelchair or stroller access, or a lift; one post only mentions taking the stairs down one floor. That means unknown, not absent.

Two posts say the restroom is inside the restaurant and two that it is split by gender; other mentions are copied info blocks.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on price split: four posts found it expensive, three good value, one mixed. One value-minded post compared the 15,000 won noodles with around 16,000 won elsewhere in the area.
  • Speed of service is split: two posts found it slow (one left after eating only the raw beef), one found it quick.
  • Several posts repeat that corkage is free, but only one actually asked and brought a bottle; another says it's unclear how many bottles are allowed.
  • Opening hours, mostly from copied blocks, agree: Monday to Saturday 11:00-21:00, break 15:00-17:00, last order 20:20, closed Sundays. Four posts say there is no Saturday break. One post lists weekends and holidays as closed and another says open until 22:00, so check before going.
  • Seven posts give the phone number 02-773-8882; one gives 0507-1464-8882. One post booked a private room by phone.
  • Some posts follow a shared template: two October posts list the same chef pedigree, 15-hour broth and new dishes in the same order, and several July-August posts repeat free corkage, rooms and short rib alike. Claims about the chef, broth time, buckwheat ratio and beef origin come from the house, so we didn't rely on them.
