SNACK SEOUL

스낵서울 Seunaek Seoul Snack Seoul is simply the English words 'snack' and 'Seoul' — the house serves reworked Korean bunsik (street-snack) dishes such as tteokbokki and gimbap-style rolls.

Compiled from 26 blog posts read in fullSources →

Snack Seoul is a bunsik (Korean snack-food) restaurant on the second floor of 46 Palpan-gil in Samcheong-dong. It serves pollock-roe tteokbokki under a baked cheese crust (19,000 won), gimbap-style rolls with gamtae seaweed, fried chicken or squid and sausage (13,000–14,000 won), its own makgeolli (3,000 won a glass) and green-grape or sweet-corn makgeolli slushies (7,000 won). The ground floor is a decorated entrance with an old-style hearth; you order at a kiosk and fetch water and cutlery yourself. We read 30 posts dated 2 July to 6 October 2026, 27 of them from actual visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Nine posts ordered at the kiosk, which stands in front of the open kitchen, with a self-service bar beside it for water and cutlery; two posts note staff bring the food to the table. Five posts mention the open kitchen.
  2. No post found the food hot. Five said even the spicy option was mild, two compared the spicy level to Shin Ramyun, and one found the mild version bland.
  3. Seven posts found portions large and one found them small: a couple with three dishes and two drinks were nearly bursting, while another pair said two dishes weren't enough and suggested ordering three.
  4. Six posts got free fried shrimp for a receipt review, and three note that sets are 2,000 won cheaper.
1 more
  1. Six posts saw foreign diners; one said every other table was foreign. Two mention a QR menu in English, Chinese and Japanese. The repeated line that celebrities frequent the place is the shop's own promotion, which we did not count.

Getting inside

Second floor15 of 26 posts
Toilet inside2 of 26 posts

All seating is upstairs: 15 posts ate on the second floor, while the ground floor is an entrance dressed with a hearth, iron pots and old doors — 'like a small museum', one wrote. Seven posts mention the large grid windows upstairs looking onto the trees of Samcheong-dong.

Dining is upstairs and several posts climbed stairs. No one mentioned a lift, an entrance step or wheelchair access — not that there is none, just that nobody wrote about it. One post says strollers can be left at the entrance.

Two posts say the toilet is inside the restaurant; nobody described whether it is gender-separated or how big it is.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinion on price splits: four posts called it expensive (a tteokbokki and a roll came to over 30,000 won), two found it fair for a tourist area. One couple's tteokbokki and gamtae roll came to 32,000 won.
  • Size is disputed: seven posts called it roomy, two said it seats about a dozen or has only five or six four-person tables. Four called it clean; one found the tables sticky.
  • No post had to wait: two walked straight in at weekend lunch or early in the day, and one arriving before noon saw it fill up soon after. Waitlist sign-up is reportedly downstairs. How long the wait runs at peak times, we don't know.
  • It is a walk from the subway. Three posts describe getting there on foot from Anguk or by the Jongno 11 bus to the Samcheong-dong community centre stop; one said it's a bit far from the station. The '15 minutes from Anguk exit 1' line is copied.
  • Eighteen posts give the same hours, daily 11:00–21:00 with last orders at 20:00, but almost all are copied listings. Eight posts give the phone as 0507-1431-8907 and one gives 02-720-8858. Naver booking is mentioned only in copied listings; no post actually booked.
  • Nine posts repeat almost the same phrases — 'globalising Korean bunsik', 'celebrities come here', 'every dish made in-house for guests' health'. These are the shop's own lines and we did not rely on them. One post discloses sponsorship, one was treated by a friend who works there, and four say they paid themselves.
  • One post found the gamtae roll, bossam, duruchigi, mixed fritters, fried squid and seasoned potatoes all unavailable at a September 2026 weekend lunch. Others ate the roll and fritters on other days, so we can't say whether the full menu is reliably available.
