SEHWA BUTCHERS

세화정육식당 Sehwa Jeongyuk Sikdang The sign spells Sehwa in hanja as 世火, 'world' and 'fire', and jeongyuk (正肉) means butchered meat; a jeongyuk sikdang is a butcher-restaurant where you pick raw cuts at the counter and grill them at your table.

A butcher-restaurant on the ground floor of Eonju-ro 134-gil 14, between Gangnam-gu Office and Hakdong stations. You inspect 1++ Hanwoo and aged pork in the display case, grill it at the table, and finish with soft-tofu or doenjang stew and cold noodles. Of the 22 posts that actually visited, 15 ordered the rib platter (300 g of rib and rib-finger meat, 69,000 won); the usual companions were the 15,000-won Hanwoo sundubu and the 8,000-won naengmyeon. We read 30 posts dated 21 February to 19 October 2026; 4 were about other restaurants and 4 did not record a visit (one listicle, three templated pieces). Couples (four posts) and office dinners (five posts) dominate.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The bench seats open up for storage: eight posts say coats and bags go inside the seat, mostly so they don't come out smelling of grilled meat. One noted it would make winter coats and bulky bags easy to manage.
  2. Mostly you grill your own. Six posts say they cooked the meat themselves. One says staff grilled everything from start to finish, and another says it isn't a grill-for-you place but the owner stepped in and did it all when her husband struggled. Nearly every post mentions the small fuel-cell warmer beside the grill for keeping cooked pieces hot.
  3. Drivers get valet parking at the door. Four posts describe using it — one arrived in the evening to an empty parking booth and a valet came running, another says on weekday evenings you pull up, turn on your hazards and get waved in. Fees such as 5,000 won for the first 180 minutes or free weekends appear only in copied info blocks.
  4. The 'big portion' remarks are about the noodles, not the meat: five posts say the 8,000-won after-grill naengmyeon is a generous bowl, one adding that you can feel the weight on your chopsticks.

Where it is

Map showing where SEHWA BUTCHERS is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

2 posts say it is walkable from the station.

Getting inside

No post describes the floor from experience; there is only the '1st floor' in the address. That isn't confirmation there are no steps — nobody wrote about it.

Nobody mentioned a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. We don't know.

No visiting post describes the restroom. One post's info block lists separate men's and women's toilets, but that was copied from the listing, so we don't rely on it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-02-222 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Much of this is sponsored copy. Only four posts disclose sponsorship, yet there are hashtag blocks repeated character for character (one set of four, one of three) and the same stock lines — the T-bone and cross-aged pork on cast iron, the storage under the seats — recur in more than ten posts. One October 2026 post nearly copies an August one. Posts even disagree on the fire: most say cast-iron grill, five say charcoal. Three February 2026 posts share a title and wording, give no prices and name dishes absent from later posts, so we did not count them as visits.
  • No visiting post reports waiting. One relays hearsay that there's a queue at peak times. Almost all posts are dinners, so we know nothing about lunch.
  • 'Pets welcome' appears in more than ten posts, but always as the restaurant's own line; no post actually brought a pet.
  • Fourteen visiting posts give opening hours, all copied blocks. Most agree on weekdays 11:30–21:50 (break 14:30–17:00, last order 21:10) and weekends 12:00–21:40 (last order 21:00). One says daily 11:30–22:00, one has weekends opening at 11:30, and one says there is no weekend break. No post mentions a closing day.
  • Prices held steady from July to October: several posts give the same 69,000 won for the rib platter and 8,000 won for naengmyeon. Seven posts list the Hanwoo sundubu at 15,000 won; one alone wrote 8,000 won and said that was the lunch price. A single post shows a 4,000-won-per-person table charge, so that rests on one receipt. Two posts called it pricey; two others were surprised by the stew or egg prices but felt they were fair. Two people having the platter, a stew and noodles spend roughly 100,000 won.
  • The phone number 0507-1305-0822 appears consistently in more than ten posts. One post ends with 02-511-9292 and a different address, which appear to belong to another business. Several posts advise booking the private rooms (6 and 14 seats), but none says they actually made a reservation.
