Jinmi Pyeongyang Naengmyeon

진미평양냉면 Jinmi is a Korean word for a fine or true flavour, and Pyeongyang naengmyeon is the Pyongyang-style cold buckwheat noodle in clear meat broth that the house is named for.

Jinmi Pyeongyang Naengmyeon sits in an alley at 305-3 Hakdong-ro, Gangnam, between Hakdong and Gangnam-gu Office stations. It runs two buildings facing each other across the alley, a main hall and an annex; one post says the cooking is done in the main hall and carried over. A bowl of cold noodles is 16,000 won, and most diners add a half plate of boiled pork (17,000 won) or dumplings (8,000 won for three). Larger groups share the eobok-jaengban hot pot (60,000 won for a small one) over soju. We read 30 posts from 15 May to 16 October 2026; 26 describe an actual meal. We set aside one about a different dumpling shop in Ulsan and did not count three list or TV-location posts. Until February 2026 the noodles cost 15,000 won.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Whether you queue depends on the hour. Eighteen posts mention waiting: 12 walked straight in and 4 waited. The walk-ins all went off-peak — before noon, 11:30 on a Saturday, 2 to 3 pm, 4 pm on a weekend. On the other side, a birthday group waited about an hour, and someone arriving at 1:50 pm on a Saturday found a line. One post says there is no booking or app queue, just an old-fashioned line; another says the whole party must be present to be seated.
  2. Drivers hand the car to the valet. Seven posts used the valet and one more used the spaces out front; all eight paid 4,000 won. One says it is bank transfer or cash only, another that oversized cars that don't fit the parking tower pay 5,000 won. One post calls the fee a bit steep, another cheaper than most central-Seoul car parks. A 3,000 won figure appears only in copied info blocks, so we don't rely on it.
  3. Food comes fast. Six posts say so — one sat down at :45 and had noodles at :46, another waited under five minutes, another got the pork the moment they ordered.
  4. You order and pay on a tablet or kiosk at the table — four posts describe this. Four posts also say extra side dishes come from a self-serve bar.
3 more
  1. Seven posts call the portions large — one left noodles in the bowl, another says four people couldn't make a dent in a small hot pot.
  2. Six posts describe the main hall as large with many tables; one disagrees, saying tables are packed close. Three posts call it loud, one saying you have to shout to talk.
  3. Five posts say the boiled pork had no gamey smell. One found the plated pork clean but the single slice on top of the noodles a little off.

Getting inside

No post says which floor the dining rooms are on or whether there are stairs. We don't know.

No post mentions a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means unknown, not absent.

No post says where the toilets are or whether they are separated by gender. We don't know.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices went up in the first half of 2026. A February visit paid 15,000 won for noodles and for a plate of dumplings, 7,500 for three dumplings; posts from August on show 16,000, 16,000 and 8,000. Another late-February visit already reports 16,000, so we can't pin down the month. Six posts call the meal expensive.
  • Service views split: one post praised staff for bringing a bowl with broth for sharing; two found service indifferent or poor.
  • Four posts are from return visitors; three say they won't go back, citing price, waiting, salty broth or tough topping meat.
  • Three posts actually came by subway, walking from Hakdong Station exits 4 or 10. Other exit and walking-time details are copied info blocks. No post came by bus.
  • One post says there are no reservations. Many posts copy the phone number 02-515-3469, but none reports booking or joining the queue by phone.
  • Twenty posts give the same hours, 11:00 to 21:30 daily with last order at 21:10, but nearly all are copied info blocks. Two say the restaurant never closes; one says it closes only on the day of major holidays. One heard there is no afternoon break.
  • Some posts were not counted: a top-ten noodle list and two posts built around a TV show only introduce the place. One influencer post reads like promotion but describes queuing after work, so we counted it.
