Noodle houseKorean

Iseol Myeonok Namgajwa

이설면옥 남가좌점 Iseol means 'pear-blossom snow' — the head shop's own blog calls itself pear blossoms white as snow — and myeonok is the old word for a noodle house.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

Iseol Myeonok's Namgajwa branch is a Hamheung-style cold noodle and Seoul-style bulgogi restaurant on the ground floor of the DMC Kumho Richensia shopping arcade near Gajwa Station; the original shop is in Suyu-dong. We read 30 posts from 9 July to 11 October 2026. We set aside 2 that were about other shops (the Suyu head shop and the bakery next door) and 2 that only listed the name, which leaves 26 visits. Skate-topped hoe naengmyeon is 13,000 won, plain or spicy cold noodles 12,000, and bulgogi 19,000 a portion; 18 of the 26 visits ordered the bulgogi and 15 the hoe naengmyeon. You order on a tablet or kiosk at the table. A kettle of hot broth comes first along with side dishes such as glass noodles, dressed skate and seaweed soup, then the bulgogi arrives as a pot heaped with sprouts and scallion that you simmer yourself.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. A buy-two-get-one bulgogi deal ran from the first post in July to the last in October. 16 visits used it: 38,000 won buys three portions. Pairs wrote that two portions left them stuffed, and one post suggested three people only need to order two. Nobody said when the deal ends.
  2. 18 posts said the portions were big, mostly about the 2+1 bulgogi arriving piled like a tower. Two disagreed: one got two small ribs in a 16,000-won short-rib soup, and another found the hoe naengmyeon small and overpriced.
  3. Nine posts said the seasoning is not salty or heavy. Sweetness split: four found the bulgogi sauce sweetish and two said it wasn't sweet. One post found the spicy noodles barely hot, mostly sweet and sour.
  4. Families dominate these posts: six visits with children, nine with family, and eight mentioned high chairs (one noted wooden ones, another that even the high chairs were wiped clean). Children reportedly went for the glass noodles, seaweed soup and the noodles in the bulgogi. Two posts came with friends, one as a couple.

Posts saying you can park10 of 25 posts

Ten posts said parking works: the arcade's underground lot, one hour free. Three came by car; one called the lot roomy and another found plenty of spaces just after 5 p.m. on a weekday. Nobody described weekend parking.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 4 (of 25 posts read)
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 25 posts read)

Four posts place the shop on the ground floor. The route up from the car park is disputed: one says there is no back door and it is easier to walk round outside, another photographed a door opening onto the arcade's interior. One post says to take the escalator up and turn left.

No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether anyone got in with a wheelchair or pushchair. That means we don't know, not that it's a problem. An escalator is mentioned, but nobody wrote about reaching the shop by lift.

Only one post mentions the toilet, saying it is outside the shop. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in a copied amenities list, so we didn't count it. We know nothing about its size or condition.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Ten posts call it close to the station, but most repeat the listing's directions (315 m from Gajwa Station exit 4). Only two actually arrived by public transport: one by the Gyeongui–Jungang line, one by bus followed by about a three-minute walk.
  • No post reports waiting. Three say they didn't: seated straight away around 12:40 on a weekday, took the last free table at lunch, and no queue at 5:30 p.m. on a Wednesday. One noted a steady stream of tables at dinner; weekend lunch is unknown.
  • Eighteen posts give opening hours, nearly all copied from the listing. Sixteen agree on 11:00–21:00, sixteen on a 15:30–17:00 break, and fourteen on Tuesdays closed. One post says 21:30 and one says 22:00. Last order is 20:30 in seven posts and 20:40 in one. One post says to arrive by 14:30 if you want bulgogi; no other post repeats this, so we couldn't confirm it.
  • A meal is 12,000–13,000 won for noodles alone; two people sharing the 2+1 bulgogi and one bowl of noodles pay about 38,000 plus 13,000 won. Opinion on value split two to two: two found it good value, two found the noodles pricey or the rib soup thin. We don't know what it will cost once the 2+1 deal ends.
  • Nine of the visits give the phone number 0507-1410-7370. Only one post discusses booking: it says Naver reservations put you on the waiting list rather than holding a table. No other post confirms this.
  • Two posts disclose sponsorship and one says some food was comped. Two August posts, both about taking a mother to dinner, share near-identical sentences; we treated them as one brief and didn't count the shared passages. Claims about the chef's awards, TV appearances and noodles made in-house are the shop's own billing, which posts repeated, so we didn't rely on them.
