kafe piknic
카페 피크닉 Kape Pikeunik Piknic is the arts complex's own spelling of 'picnic'; kafe piknic is the café on its ground floor, spelled the same playful way.

A café on the ground floor of Piknic, an arts complex in Hoehyeon-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul. Seating is a long communal table under a row of chandeliers, plus single booths along the wall. It serves coffee, tea and cakes, and also beer and wine. Two posts gave prices: americano 5,500 won, Amazing Oat latte 6,800, chocolate cake 7,000, tiramisu 8,000, croissant 5,500. Many visitors stop in before or after an exhibition. We read 20 posts from April to October 2026. Thirteen describe an actual visit to the café, one was about a different place and was dropped, and six were exhibition write-ups or listings that we did not count.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- This is a room with big windows. Six posts mentioned the windows and the daylight, with sunlight pouring in and greenery from the garden outside. Some sat at the wall-side seats that face the glass.
- Whether it is quiet depends on when you go: four posts said yes, two said no. One of the quiet visits was a weekday morning with no exhibition on. Of the two that disagreed, one went on a Saturday full of families with children, and the other warned that the music is loud and the seats by the big speaker are best avoided.
- It is a café, but it sells beer. Three posts mentioned this, and in one a friend ordered a bottle in February. One post said the room turns into a bar in the evening, but the writer only heard this, so we did not count it.

One post came by car: there is a lot right in front of the building, valet-run, and the post said it is not large. One more post noted seeing the lot. The fee of 4,000 won for the first 90 minutes and 1,000 won per 10 minutes after that is a copied line repeated across posts.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

| Step at the entrance | 1 of 12 posts |
It is on the ground floor, not underground. Six posts said so in their own words, for example that the café is right there on the first floor as you walk in. The basement level holds the complex's shop.
No post described getting into the café with a wheelchair or stroller. One mentioned climbing entrance steps to a sliding door. An elevator and accessible parking come up in exhibition posts that did not visit the café, so we did not count them. This does not mean access is easy or hard; nobody reported on it.
None of the café visits mentioned the restroom, so we don't know. One exhibition post said the building has a women's restroom on the ground floor and the men's on the second, but it was not a café visit and we did not count it.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 18 posts we gathered, 6 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Three posts walked up from Hoehyeon Station, and all of them mentioned the hill; one advised taking it slowly because the path is steep. Distances like '5 minutes from exit 3' come from copied info blocks, so we did not count them.
- No post said they queued. One said waits are long on exhibition weekends, but it is unclear whether that meant the café or the exhibition. Two said seats are hard to find when it is busy or on weekends.
- Who people came with doesn't settle: two came with friends, two with family and a child, and one alone. The rest did not say.
- Six posts list the same opening hours, 10:00 to 18:00 and closed Mondays, and five give a last order of 17:30. All of these come from copied info blocks, and one post contradicts itself by writing 'Mon to Sat' while also saying it closes on Mondays.
- Only two posts, from September and October 2026, gave prices, and none gave a per-person total. One post called the prices reasonable for a stylish Seoul café.
- Three posts list the phone number 070-8821-6374. None said whether the café takes reservations.
- An October 2026 post labelled itself self-paid, but it ends with a pitch for the Amazing Oat barista product and never mentions a sponsor. Read its praise for the oat latte with that in mind.
