Aino Garden Kitchen

아이노가든키친 Aino Gadeun Kichin Garden Kitchen is plain English for the converted two-storey house with a planted garden it occupies; no post explains the word Aino.

Compiled from 26 blog posts read in fullSources →

Aino Garden Kitchen serves Korean wrap-rice sets on the second floor of a converted two-storey house with a garden, on Gyeonghuigung 2-gil in Naesu-dong, Jongno. Boiled pork belly or its own stir-fried pork comes with a basket of leaves, doenjang stew, millet rice and three side dishes, and sets must be ordered for at least two. The pork-belly set for two was 33,000 won through August 2026 and 34,000 won in September posts; the stir-fried pork set was 29,000 won for two. You check in on CatchTable downstairs, order and pay while you wait, then climb the stairs to eat. We read 30 posts dated 19 April to 6 October 2026: 27 from people who ate there, 2 that only introduced the place or listed it, and 1 that was about another restaurant. Many posts gave the phone number 0507-1354-1154. One post says the restaurant moved here from Hapjeong before April 2026.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Expect a wait. Sixteen posts mentioned queuing; the two that walked straight in came on a weekday at 1:30 pm and a Friday at 2:30 pm. The waits people recorded were 8 minutes (two groups ahead), 10 minutes (even with a booking), 20 minutes (arriving before a booked slot), 40 minutes (Saturday noon), 40 minutes (arriving 11:30 as a party of three), just under an hour (6 pm) and about an hour. One post found a queue even at 2 pm on a Friday.
  2. Fifteen posts booked through CatchTable or said you can. One found that booking two days ahead got the slot they wanted; another said slots run hourly from 11:00. Even with a booking, some still gave their name downstairs and waited a few minutes.
  3. Nine posts described seats on the ground floor for waiting. A July visitor noted the waiting area is indoors and well air-conditioned; on a rainy day another found it crowded because everyone waited inside.
  4. Eighteen posts mentioned the terrace outside the second-floor windows. Several were told terrace seats require one drink per person. The colourful tables in the front garden belong to the ground-floor café, not the restaurant, as one post pointed out.
3 more
  1. Seven posts described the side room by the stairs: two four-seat tables and one two-seat table by one account, a table seating eight by another. A party of three was shown in there.
  2. Because you order while waiting, six posts said the food arrived almost as soon as they sat down.
  3. Four posts said the pork had no porky smell, describing it as soft rather than chewy with a good balance of fat and lean.

Parking

5 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot5 of 26 posts

Five posts said in their own words that there is no parking of its own, and many copied 'no parking' from the listing. A family that drove used the Gyeonghuigung Achim complex 3 shopping-arcade car park: 1,500 won for the first 30 minutes, then 500 won per 10 minutes.

The dining room is upstairs: thirteen posts waited and ordered on the ground floor, then took the stairs up. The centre of the room is a large round table shared by several parties, with two- and four-seat tables beside it and a side room off the stairs. One post found facing strangers at the round table uncomfortable.

Inside the ground-floor entrance, a staircase leads down to a separate business, the cocktail bar UNFUSSY. One post nearly walked in by mistake. The restaurant is upstairs.

Only one post covered wheelchairs or strollers. A family with a seven-month-old said there is no ramp or lift: they carried a full-size stroller up to the second floor, and the dining room was too tight for it, so they were moved to the terrace. No post came in a wheelchair, and we don't know of any route up other than the stairs.

Only one post mentioned the toilets: inside the restaurant, separate for men and women, and clean. Beyond that one account, we don't know more.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Step at the entrance · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on noise split two to three: the two who found it quiet sat in the side room or on an empty terrace, while three found it loud. Voices echo around the shared round table, and one post could hear the kitchen.
  • Three posts said the space is not large; one said it is roomy once you count the terrace. One felt the tables were crammed for the number of diners.
  • Four posts found it walkable from the subway, 7 to 10 minutes from Gyeongbokgung exits 6 or 7 or Gwanghwamun exit 1. One July visitor found it a long, uphill walk in the heat. No post came by bus.
  • One post, from someone who had eaten at the earlier Hapjeong branch, said it moved here; another repeated the move as hearsay. The move predates our earliest post (April 2026), so we counted nothing from the Hapjeong era.
  • Prices have gone up. The pork-belly set for two was 33,000 won in posts from April to August 2026 and 34,000 won in posts from 3 and 28 September. The boiled-pork plate was 20,000 won in May and 25,000 won in October; nobody said whether the portion changed. Two people having a set plus drinks spent in the mid-30,000s.
  • Nineteen posts gave the same hours: 11:00 to 21:00 every day, mostly with last orders at 20:30, and several said it never closes. Most of this was copied from the listing. One post gave last orders as 20:00. A single post listed a 15:00–17:00 break, but its info block had the wrong street address, so we left it out; a June visitor went at 3 pm precisely because there was no break.
  • Whether you can book the terrace is disputed: three posts said CatchTable only takes indoor bookings and the terrace is walk-in only, while one said they booked a terrace table ahead. On deposits, one post paid 5,000 won per person (non-refundable for a same-day booking), whereas several CatchTable links advertised no deposit.
  • No post said whether you can book by phone; everyone who booked used CatchTable.
