Seobu Cheonggiwa Gamjatang Ujangsanyeok-jeom

서부청기와감자탕 우장산역점 Seobu means 'western', cheonggiwa is the blue glazed roof tile of traditional Korean buildings (one post notes the blue tile-style interior), and gamjatang is pork-backbone stew.

Compiled from 29 blog posts read in fullSources →

A 24-hour gamjatang and bone-soup place on the second floor of the building with a Subway downstairs, right by Exit 4 of Ujangsan Station in Gangseo-gu. The stew is listed at 36,000 won small, 43,000 medium and 49,000 large; the single bone soup at 10,000, or 15,000 for the large. The pot simmers on a gas burner at the table, and you help yourself to free instant noodles and sujebi dough from the self-serve corner. Nine posts finished with the 1,000-won fry-it-yourself rice. We read 30 posts from 17 July to 14 October 2026; 29 are about this branch and all 29 describe an actual visit. One was about a different branch of the same name in Mokdong and was set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The noodles and dough are free: 27 posts said you can take as much ramyeon and sujebi from the self-serve corner as you like, and several noted sujebi is already in the stew. Four said staff topped up the broth when it boiled down, one owner coming over unasked. One post saw a notice of a 500-won charge for leaving food; two said taking leftovers home costs 1,000 won.
  2. 21 posts called the portions large. Five counted six bones in a small stew, and single posts wrote six to seven, five to six, and six or more. Two posts said three people shared one small, and another reckoned a small would do three adults. Several gave up on the noodles or the fried rice because they were full.
  3. 25 posts called the room spacious. One counted fifteen four-tops, one six-top and two two-tops, close to 70 seats; another counted more than ten four-person tables. One noticed the window two-tops have no burner and are used by solo bone-soup diners; another sat by the big glass window.
  4. Five posts said there is free coffee after the meal — vending-machine milk coffee and sweets near the counter.
4 more
  1. Five posts saw or used high chairs. Three went with children, and the menu has a kids' rice ball, pork cutlet, dumplings and fried shrimp; one family ordered from those for the children. Two mentioned aprons to guard against splashes.
  2. Two posts said solo diners get a phone stand; one, eating alone, was given one without asking.
  3. 13 posts found it close to the station, mostly two or three minutes' walk from Exit 4; one gave Exit 3 and three or four minutes. One noted a bus stop right in front.
  4. Six posts said the meat had no gamey smell. Many said it came off the bone at a touch of the chopsticks and dipped it in the mustard sauce.

Getting inside

Second floor22 of 29 posts
Toilet inside4 of 29 posts

The restaurant is upstairs: 22 posts described going up to the second floor, seven of them by the stairs inside the building (straight in and turn right, or the stairs beside the back entrance). Several said the big sign and menu photos at the ground-floor entrance make it easy to find.

Nobody wrote about a step at the door, wheelchair or stroller access, or a lift. Seven posts simply took the stairs to the second floor — that is not evidence there is no lift, only that no one mentioned one.

Four posts said the toilet is inside the restaurant and clean. Whether it is split by gender appears only in copied amenity lists, not in anyone's account.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on heat differ: five posts called the broth spicy, one said it was not overly hot, and another found it mild and not salty.
  • Ordering changed: a 3 September 2026 post found the table QR stickers not working and ordered from staff, while two posts from 16 September and 8 October ordered by QR code.
  • No post reported waiting for a table. Several noted it was busy at lunch or late at night, and one had an extra order forgotten during a rush. That does not mean there is never a queue — nobody recorded one.
  • Most posts put the 1,000-won soju deal at 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.; four saw the notice or drank at that price, and three mentioned conditions such as a cap per dish. One 24 July 2026 post described it differently, as 1,000 won off drinks.
  • Prices held steady: six posts gave 36,000 won for a small stew from July to October. Two people with a small and rice come to the high 30,000s; one group of four had a large plus two bone add-ons. Only two posts gave a total bill (48,000 and 36,000 won).
  • Twenty posts listed opening hours, almost all copied from listings. Thirteen agree it is open around the clock except Tuesdays from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m.; one says open every day without exception, and one gives Monday as 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Ten posts gave the phone number 02-2665-7718. 'Reservations available' appears only in copied amenity lists; no one reported booking.
  • Much of this reads as promotion: six posts end with an identical set of eleven hashtags and four more nearly match. Two disclose sponsorship, two say they paid themselves, and the rest say nothing. Each describes its own order and company so we counted them all, but the uniformly positive tone should be weighed accordingly.
