Oh!Meal
오밀 혜화대학로 Omil Hyehwa Daehangno Omil is the Korean spelling of the English 'Oh! Meal' — an exclamation folded into the word meal; the brand's slogan is 'Eat, Smile, Love'.

Oh!Meal Hyehwa is a casual Western-style restaurant on the second floor of a red-brick building on Daemyeong-gil, a two-to-three-minute walk from exit 4 of Hyehwa station, and a branch of the Oh!Meal chain also found in Seongsu and Hongdae. Its signature is the rubber-duck omurice (16,900 won): salmon fried rice under a swirl of soft egg, topped with quail-egg ducklings. There are also pastas (17,900–18,900 won), a sizzling cheese katsu (19,900 won) and a steak (37,900 won), and pairs often take the two-person set of two mains, a side and two drinks. You order on your own phone by tapping or scanning a tag on the table, and water and pickles are self-serve. We read 30 posts dated 14 September to 27 October 2026. One was about a nearby café and was set aside, and one only described the menu, so 28 count as actual visits. Eighteen of them ordered the rubber-duck omurice.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Expect to queue at weekends and mealtimes. Twelve posts mention a wait, with times of 15–20, 20, 20, 30 (nine groups ahead) and 45 minutes; others counted seven or eleven groups ahead. There is a CatchTable waiting kiosk on the wall by the second-floor entrance, so you can register and wander until your number comes up. A 22 September post instead wrote its name on a staff list and was called by phone. One post walked straight in at 5:30 on a Wednesday, and those who arrived for the 11:30 opening sat at once, though the room filled quickly.
- There is no paper menu. Seventeen posts describe ordering on their own phone by tapping it on a white tag on the table (NFC) or scanning a QR code, and three point out that there is no menu card at all. One visitor's mother told her she couldn't manage it, and the post advises helping older parents order. One post notes you pay on the way out.
- Seven posts came with children. Six saw or used high chairs. A family with a 28-month-old got separate child tableware, and staff offered unprompted to leave the pickled ginger out of the omurice for the child. Two posts note it is not a no-kids zone. Several say the duck toy from the omurice is yours to keep, and one parent ate in peace while the child played with it. One post found the spicy seafood pasta too hot to share with a child.
- The spicy seafood pasta is genuinely hot. Five of the six posts that called something spicy meant this dish ('really, really hot'), and three say you can pick a milder level when ordering. The gochujang butter pasta divides opinion: one post found it fairly spicy, while two said the butter dominated and it was mild.

- Seven posts say a Naver receipt review or a Google review earns a free drink. Most got a cherry, pineapple or basil-tomato ade, and one got a cola.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

The restaurant is up on the second floor. Twelve posts describe going upstairs, and one says you have to take the stairs. No post says whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in, whether there is a step at the door, or whether there is a lift. That does not mean there isn't one; nobody wrote about it.
Only one post mentions the toilet: a single unisex toilet inside the restaurant, kept clean. No other post covers it.
No one mentioned: Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Twenty-four posts copy the opening hours, and nearly all agree: daily 11:30–21:15, a weekday break from 15:15 to 16:30 (none at weekends), last order 20:30. Two posts give different figures. A 7 October post lists Wednesday as a closing day, and the earliest post, from 14 September, gives an 11:00 opening and a break starting at 13:15. One post itself warns that the closing-day notice seems to vary and suggests calling first.
- Prices for individual dishes match across posts, but the two-person set is given as either 47,700 or 48,700 won. Couples who took the set paid 51,700–52,700 won in total. Four posts thought prices reasonable for Daehangno, and one found the 3,500-won soft drinks steep.
- Sixteen posts give the same phone number, 0507-1353-9474. Some repeat that bookings can be made through Naver or CatchTable, but no post says it actually booked.
- The posts cluster: fifteen appeared in three days, 25–27 October, with near-identical titles, and several copy the restaurant's own menu blurbs word for word. Two disclose sponsorship, and one says it paid only the extra on site. We counted things people actually experienced, like waits, the ordering system and prices, rather than the praise in this batch.
- The rubber-duck omurice changed in October. A 22 September post received a squeaky duck in a swim ring, while posts from 10 October describe a duck hidden inside a witch-hatted pumpkin, sold as a Halloween-season special. We have no posts yet showing what it looks like from November.
