Iseon Hwadeok Jokbal Bossam Myeongil-jeom

이선화덕족발보쌈 명일점 Hwadeok is a wood-fired, pizza-style oven: the house roasts its boiled jokbal (pig's trotters) in one before serving. The posts don't explain the name Iseon.

Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

A trotter-and-bossam house on Myeongridan-gil, the eating alley by exit 2 of Myeongil station in Gangdong-gu (Yangjae-daero 147-gil 8, unit 101). Boiled trotters get a second roast in a wood-fired oven, then sit on a small tabletop burner so they stay warm. Roasted jokbal runs from ₩39,000 (small) to ₩59,000 (extra-large), a medium half-and-half plate is ₩49,000 and the whole-trotter platter ₩55,000; a soft-tofu stew comes free with the meat. One couple paid ₩54,000 for a medium plus buckwheat noodles. We read 30 posts dated 20 Sept to 24 Oct 2026. Two were about other places, so we set them aside; the other 28 all describe a meal there.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Order trotters and a soft-tofu stew arrives free, still bubbling in its pot. Twenty-three posts ate it; one says a second pot is ₩6,000. One post tells a different story: the stew showed up on the bill, turned out to be the free one, and was only offered at payment, so they never had it.
  2. The front opens onto a terrace through folding doors. Nineteen posts mention it, and many sat out there on cool evenings in late September and early October. One arrived at 6:30 pm to find a group already out there, another found the outdoor tables full, and a third missed out on the window seats.
  3. Writing a review earns an extra dish. Seventeen posts got something this way, usually the gorgonzola pizza and sometimes the noodles. One explains the tiers: one receipt review for noodles, two for pizza or salted oysters. Another says the owner told them the free noodles are a bit smaller. Three more posts got pizza or rice balls for booking through Naver.
  4. Side dishes are refilled from a self-serve bar. Twenty posts mention it: lettuce, dried radish, kimchi, chive salad, chillies, garlic, salted shrimp. One went back twice for the chive salad, another twice for the radish.
2 more
  1. The room is roomy. Seventeen posts say so: wide gaps between tables, partitions between booths, one notes a high ceiling. One counts ten tables including the terrace. The partitions are not private rooms, as one post points out.
  2. A big screen hangs in the middle of the room. Two posts watched baseball on it during dinner; a third saw it as a place to watch a game together.

Parking

6 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park6 of 27 posts

The 'three spaces out front, three underground, plus a public lot' line is mostly copied from Naver. Six posts actually parked or read the sign. One counts two spaces out front, not three. Another found the spaces tight and paid to use the Myeongil-dong public lot nearby.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 27 posts read)
Toilet inside5 of 27 posts
Separate restrooms4 of 27 posts

No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. That means we don't know, not that it's fine. Just one post mentions the floor: ground level, near the main road.

Five posts say the toilets are inside the restaurant, and four of them say there are separate men's and women's rooms, left and right of a shared door.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • These posts arrived in a burst: 30 in five weeks, with titles and hashtags repeating the same search phrases. Only one post discloses sponsorship; the other 27 say nothing about who paid. The house also gives food for reviews. Read the praise, such as no gamey smell (12 posts) or a roomy hall (17), with that in mind.
  • Nobody wrote about queuing. Some posts say the room filled up or looked full early in the evening, but none gives a wait time. That means we don't know, not that there's no wait.
  • How spicy the spicy jokbal is depends on who you ask: one post says spicy, two say not very (sweet-hot rather than numbing), and one says it seemed mild alongside the side dishes.
  • The opening hours are copied from Naver, and they don't agree. Of 25 posts, 20 say daily 12:00–23:30, three say Sundays close at 22:30, three say midnight, and the versions overlap even within late September. None mentions a closing day. Check before you go.
  • Prices mostly agree across posts. The exceptions: several put the medium half-and-half at ₩49,000, but a 30 Sept post says ₩48,000, and one lists bossam at ₩39,000 where the others give ₩44,000 for a medium. Nobody called it expensive.
  • Most posts give the phone number as 0507-1472-1514; one gives 02-441-1511. Three posts booked through Naver, and one passes on that groups of 35+ can hire the place Monday to Thursday.
  • The menu has changed: a 28 Sept post notes that samgyetang (chicken ginseng soup) is new. Menus copied before that don't have it.
