Uwa
우와 Uwa is the Korean exclamation 'wow!'.
Compiled from 12 blog posts read in fullSources →
A teppan spot on a Myeongdong side street (Myeongdong 10-gil 35-20) serving okonomiyaki made with grated yam instead of flour and fresh-noodle yakisoba, each built from a choice of topping (pork, chicken or shrimp) and sauce. Dishes are cooked in the kitchen and set on a hot plate built into each table so they stay warm. The typical meal in the posts was two people sharing a tomato okonomiyaki (17,000 won) and a shio yakisoba (17,000 won). We read 30 posts dated 19 September to 6 October 2026; 12 of them (19 September to 2 October) are about this restaurant, and all 12 describe a visit. The other 18 used 'uwa' as an exclamation or were about the Sulbing upstairs or the Onion bakery next door.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The kitchen is open: eight posts said so, and several noted that from the counter seats you watch the noodles being fried on the griddle. One post seated at a table said it couldn't see the cooking and missed that.
- There are both counter seats and tables: seven posts mentioned both, some noting four- and six-seat tables and a group area further in. One post said a solo diner would be fine at the counter, though no one wrote about going alone.
- Nine posts called the room clean and six called it spacious. Two mentioned one glass wall and a glass entrance that let in daylight.
- Waits vary. One post found one party ahead around 7 p.m. on a Friday; another had once given up at weekday lunch and booked ahead this time. One walked straight in early on a weekday evening, and one watched the room fill up from about 6:30 on a Monday. No post gave a waiting time in minutes.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

The address says ground floor, but three posts said the entrance is half a floor up a few steps. No one described going down to a basement.
No post describes entering with a wheelchair or stroller. Three mention steps up to a half-level entrance, but no one said whether there is a ramp or lift. That means we don't know, not that there isn't one.
Only one post described the toilets: inside the restaurant at the back, separate for men and women, roomy and clean. Other mentions were copied from the listing.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- All 12 posts about this place came out within two weeks (19 September to 2 October), most with the same hashtags and the same order. One said it was a sponsored visit, one said the writer paid, and the other ten did not say (one only wrote that the review 'includes' self-paid visits). One writer said they first came on a sponsored visit and then went back twice on their own money.
- One post said it walked about five minutes from Myeongdong Station; other posts' lines like 'four minutes from exit 8' were copied from the listing.
- Ten posts gave opening hours, all copied from the listing: nine said 11:30 to 22:00 and one said it opens at 11:00. The nine that gave a break all said 14:30 to 17:00. No post mentioned a closing day.
- Prices are from September 2026 posts: okonomiyaki and yakisoba run 16,000 to 18,000 won depending on the sauce, drinks 8,000 won. No post judged the prices as high or low.
- Several posts gave the phone number 0507-1391-0644. One post said it booked through Naver before going; mentions of CatchTable booking and queueing were copied from the listing.
- Four posts said who they went with: two with friends, two on a date with a spouse or partner. None mentioned children or going alone.
