Hansik Wangbijip Myeongdong-jeom
한식왕비집 명동점 Wangbijip means 'the queen's house', and hansik means Korean food — this is the Korean-meal branch of the Wangbi-jip barbecue group.

A Korean restaurant in a basement off Myeongdong 6-gil, next to the Hello Kitty café. It serves porridge and seaweed soup from 7:30 to 10:30, bibimbap and short-rib soup trays from 11:30 to 17:00, and charcoal barbecue in the evening. Traditional bibimbap is 13,000 won, or 16,000 won as a tray with Korean-beef bulgogi. We read 20 posts from March 2025 to October 2026, 16 of them from people who went. Fifteen ate the rice-and-soup meals; only one grilled meat. One post about a different branch (Wangbijip Myeongdong No. 2) was set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Expect a line at lunch. Five posts saw people waiting, all at lunchtime. One arrived around 11:40 and said the people right behind had to wait; another found people queuing on the stairs on the way out. Six posts booked ahead or advised booking, and those who booked walked straight in. One early-evening visit found no wait.
- Food comes quickly despite the line: seven posts said so, one putting it at about ten minutes. No post said it was slow.
- The bibimbap sauce is mild: five posts said it was not hot, one likening it to something between gochujang and ssamjang. One post described it as spicy-tangy. Seven said the seasoning was not salty.
- Many of the diners are foreign visitors. Six posts said so from what they saw, one guessing eight foreigners to two Koreans; a 2025 post went in around 8 a.m. after seeing tourists file in. Posts noted the menu is printed in English, Japanese and Chinese.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | 12 of 16 posts |
|---|---|
| Step at the entrance | 6 of 16 posts |
| Toilet inside | yes 0 · no 1 (of 16 posts read) |
| Separate restrooms | 1 of 16 posts |
The dining room is one floor down. Twelve posts described going down, six of them mentioning stairs; one said it is only a few steps from the entrance and does not feel like a deep basement.
We don't know whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. No post said, and none mentioned a lift; six described taking stairs down from the entrance.
The toilets are outside the dining room: one post said the separate men's and women's toilets are half a flight up from the basement and you need a key from the counter. This is the only first-hand mention; other posts merely copied a listing line.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 19 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Only one post ate the evening barbecue: a mixed pork platter (two portions, 300 g, 43,000 won), with staff grilling from start to finish. That single post is all we know about dinner.
- Eleven posts gave opening hours as 7:30 to 23:00; one said it opens at 7:00 and one that it closes at 23:30. Eight gave a 10:30-11:30 break and eight a 22:00 last order. A March 2025 post said there was no break. Most of this was copied from the listing.
- Prices were identical in every post from May to October 2026 (traditional bibimbap 13,000 won, raw-beef bibimbap 17,000, short-rib soup 18,000). The 2025 post gave no prices, so we can't say whether they rose. No post listed drink prices.
- Six posts gave the phone number 0507-1410-7031; one said bookings can also be made through Naver Booking and CatchTable.
- More than ten of the sixteen visit posts carry the same block of hashtags in the same order, and one blogger posted identical booking links for this and another branch. None disclosed sponsorship; one said it paid its own way. Read the uniform praise with that in mind.
