Dim Dim Sum

딤딤섬 명동점 Dimdimseom Myeongdong-jeom Dim Dim Sum is the Korean reading of the Hong Kong chain 點點心 (one post gives the Chinese name), a doubling of dim sum, 點心, which another post glosses as food that 'touches the heart' lightly.

Compiled from 18 blog posts read in fullSources →

Dim Dim Sum Myeongdong is the Myeongdong branch of a Hong Kong dim sum chain, in the first basement of Noon Square on Myeongdong-gil. Dim sum comes four to a basket; posts list xiaolongbao at 6,500 won, har gow at 7,500, siu mai and shiitake dim sum at 7,000, crispy cheung fun, char siu rice and wonton noodles at 10,000, and mala beef noodles at 12,000. You order from a QR code on the table, and there is a set for two and BBQ sets built around Cantonese roast duck. We read 30 posts dated July 28 to October 9, 2026. Nine were about other branches (Lotte World Mall, One Grove, Parnas Mall, Daegu, East Pole), Hong Kong shops or other restaurants, so we set them aside; the remaining 21 are all first-hand visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Seven posts say they did not wait: at 2:30 pm, around 11:20 am, after 7 pm on a weekday, 11:30 am on a weekday, Saturday noon with a Naver booking, Saturday 5:30 pm, and a weekend. The weekday 11:30 visitor found the room two-thirds full, and nearly full by 11:40. One more post saw a short line and walked straight in. Claims that the wait is usually huge were hearsay, so we did not count them.
  2. Three posts write from experience about booking. Two booked for Saturday noon and Saturday 5:30 pm; the 5:30 visitor says walk-ins were being seated anyway. A regular group of four, who saw the room nearly full by 11:40, advises booking the day before.
  3. Nine posts ate the crispy cheung fun, one of the most-ordered dishes here. The soft rice sheet hides fried shrimp and vegetables, so three posts say the crunch is on the inside, not the outside; two describe the outside as crisp. Counting spring rolls too, eight posts call something here crisp.
  4. Seven posts describe something as sweet, mostly the sauce on the eggplant dim sum, and also the char siu rice sauce, the honey char siu in the BBQ set and the soy under the bok choy.
6 more
  1. Nine posts call the room large. Five describe the seating: one lists two-, four- and eight-seat tables, and two mention partitions at the two-seat tables.
  2. Five posts mention ordering by QR code: each table has one and you pay once on the way out. One post liked not having to wait for staff.
  3. Six posts say it is close to Euljiro 1-ga Station: one says three minutes on foot from Exit 6, another six minutes (eight from Myeongdong Station), and one notes an underground link to Lotte Department Store. One post recommends public transport because parking is expensive.
  4. Five posts are repeat visits: a third visit, a second visit, a self-described regular, someone who stops in whenever in Myeongdong, and a group of four who always order the BBQ family set.
  5. Four posts noticed many foreign diners; one says it felt like everyone around was Chinese, another put it at half Korean, half foreign.
  6. Two posts mention the air conditioning and both found it very cold; both visits were in July or August.

Getting inside

In a basement4 of 18 posts

Four posts describe going down to the basement. One took the escalator and followed signs; another used the outdoor stairs on the right side of Noon Square and at first could not find the entrance. One post notes it is easy to miss from the street.

The restaurant is underground, but nobody mentions an elevator, a step at the door, or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller; the only routes described are an escalator and outdoor stairs. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is no access.

Nobody says where the toilets are or whether they are inside the restaurant. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in one post's copied info block, which we did not count.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Heat is split: five posts found dishes spicy (mala wontons, mala beef noodles, mala cucumber), one felt little heat in the cucumber. Two posts note the mala sauce for the beef noodles can come on the side.
  • Three posts found the seasoning not salty; two were mixed, each finding one item salty and another just right.
  • One post found the staff friendly; another says their xiaolongbao never came, and when they raised it the staff handled it curtly without an apology, simply removing it from the bill.
  • Nine posts list the same opening hours, 11:00 to 20:50 daily with last orders at 20:15, open every day with no break, but all of them are copied info blocks rather than first-hand checks.
  • Prices come from August and September 2026 posts. One post says the set for two lists at 55,000 won but they paid 49,000, without saying why. Two-person meals came to 32,500 and about 34,000 won in one post each. An October post truncated its prices, so we did not use them. Three posts call the prices reasonable; one says they usually think of dim sum as pricey dumplings.
  • Dim Dim Sum has many branches, so we used check-ins and addresses to set aside posts about Lotte World Mall, One Grove, Parnas Mall, Daegu, East Pole and Hong Kong. Every count on this page comes from the 21 Myeongdong posts. Eight posts give the phone number 0507-1497-5522, and copied info says reservations are taken through Naver and Catchtable.
