Dadong Hwangso Makchang
다동 황소막창 Dadong is the old neighbourhood by Cheonggyecheon where the shop first stood; hwangso means a bull and makchang is beef abomasum (the fourth stomach), grilled here over charcoal.

Dadong Hwangso Makchang sits at 60-5 Namdaemun-ro in Jung-gu, down a narrow alley off the main road between Myeongdong and Euljiro 1-ga stations. Guests grill beef tripe (22,000 won per 200 g, weighed raw) and baby octopus (16,000 won) themselves over table charcoal, with spicy noodles or fluffy steamed egg at 7,000 won and noodle soup at 6,000. It opens at 4 pm and orders go through a QR code on the table. It is now an indoor room; before that it was an open-air spot in Dadong near Cheonggyecheon. We read 30 posts dated 9 June to 19 October 2026, 27 of them from actual visits. Most writers came after seeing the place on Kang Min-kyung's YouTube channel with Hwasa.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Waiting depends on when you go: ten posts walked straight in, six waited. Those who waited registered remotely at 5:11 pm and got in at 6:28, registered at 3:30 as number thirty-something and sat down around 5:15, or waited about an hour and twenty minutes. The walk-ins came right after opening (4:30 or 6 on a weekday) or late (9 pm on a Friday). The queue opens at 3:30 pm via the CatchTable or Tabling apps or a tablet outside the door.
- Ten posts said the tripe had no off smell; none said it did. One called it fresh, not frozen, and five noted it comes cut thick, unlike the thin, flattened Daegu style. Several writers who rarely eat offal said they had no trouble with it.
- Six posts said a portion is small: the 200 g is weighed before grilling and shrinks on the fire, so the bill climbs. One table of three paid 120,000 won (about 40,000 each) for three portions of tripe, two of octopus, noodles and three drinks; a pair reported nearly 100,000 won.
- Eight posts said you order on your phone from a QR code on the table. One noted that extra dipping paste, a grill change and more garlic are listed as zero-won items so you can request them without flagging staff; you pay at the door on the way out, and water and aprons are self-serve.
3 more
- Eight posts were surprised how big the room is for an alley spot: drum tables, each with a silver extractor pipe, spaced widely enough to move around. One post said the smoke clings to clothes and ventilation felt weak; another noted a deodorising spray by the exit.
- Six posts either booked ahead through Naver or CatchTable (one a week in advance) or saw many tables marked as reserved. Four mentioned seats by the entrance for people waiting.
- Four posts saw framed photos of Hwasa and Kang Min-kyung on the wall or by the till; one recorded the dates as July 2024 and April 2026, and noted drinks on the menu tagged as each singer's pick.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 1 of 25 posts |

No one described the floor level from experience; the address says ground floor, but no post mentions stairs either way. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there are none.
No one said whether the entrance has a step or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. Several only noted that you reach it down a narrow alley.
One post said the toilet is inside the restaurant and clean. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in copied listing details, not in anyone's own account.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 27 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The restaurant has moved. Some time before May 2026 it left its open-air site in Dadong near Cheonggyecheon for the current indoor room at 60-5 Namdaemun-ro; three posts said so directly and four said there is no outdoor seating now. Two posts from September and October 2026 still describe an open-air lot, which we treat as recycled descriptions of the old site and did not count.
- Posts disagree on whether the tripe arrives par-grilled: one said it comes raw and you grill from scratch, another said it came already seared once. The menu gives the weight as before grilling.
- Only one post described walking from Euljiro 1-ga or Myeongdong station; the rest copied lines like '382 m from exit 6', and nobody mentioned coming by bus.
- Most posts give opening hours as 4-11 pm on weekdays (last order 10) and 4-10 pm on Saturday (last order 9), closed Sunday, but nearly all copied this from the listing. One gave a 9 pm last order every day, one 4-10 pm, one an 11 am opening. Several said it closes early when ingredients run out.
- Prices are consistent across posts that copied the menu (tripe 22,000, octopus 16,000, soju 5,000, beer 6,000 won), though one post said its prices were 'as currently listed', so they may not be what it paid. Reported bills ran about 120,000 won for three and nearly 100,000 for two.
- Seven posts list the phone as 0507-1346-9061 and two as 02-319-9055; we could not confirm which one is answered now. Writers booked through Naver and CatchTable.
