Keunjip Dakgangjeong in Munjeong is a sweet-and-crispy-chicken shop that is also a beer hall, on the ground floor of the M-Stay A block across from exit 3 of Munjeong station on Line 8. The sign outside reads 'Keunjip Hof', which throws people — four writers thought at first they had the wrong door. By day it is mostly people collecting boxes of chicken; by evening it is people sitting down to drink. Besides the chicken the board runs to whelk salad, stir-fried pork, rolled omelette, fish-cake soup, tteokbokki, pasta, thin noodle soup and the Han-River instant ramyeon, with an old-fashioned sugared toast sold at lunchtime only. Takeaway goes through its own kiosk by the door. The posts we read run from 1 March to 9 May 2026.

What sets it apart
- One shop, two counters. A kiosk by the door handles takeaway only, and beside it the three box sizes are pinned to the wall at actual size, so you can hold your hand up and pick. Three writers say takeaway is cheaper; only one says by how much (₩2,000). One writer noticed that the dine-in board and the takeaway board are not the same menu — inside there is one size, outside you choose.
- Nothing is fried until you order it, so you wait — one writer's takeaway took fifteen minutes and they walked a block while it cooked. The kitchen is open to the room, so you watch the frying and the tossing in the pan, and two writers mention the puffed-corn snack handed over to fill the wait. The comparison people keep reaching for is the other kind of place, where it is fried in advance and only the sauce is reheated.
- Accounts of the size do not agree. Six writers counted the tables and got three, four, five, six or seven. One puts the room at twenty to thirty people; another found it roomier than expected. When the weather turns they set tables outside, and one writer, finding no seat indoors, had the owner put one out for them — it looks less like a contradiction than like different nights.
- A beam projector plays on one wall. Sometimes it is a match, sometimes girl-group videos, and one writer reports that the owner will put your game on if you ask. Several say it is a room built for watching baseball or football with a glass in hand.
- You can hold your place at the table on a night you cannot drink. They keep an alcohol-free beer, and five writers are glad of it — a couple trying for a baby, people who drove, people who do not drink at all. Four more simply ordered a cola or a glass of water instead.
- There are signed boards on the wall — several writers recognise the actor Shim Hyung-tak's, and one also spots Choi Duk-moon's. A lot of people take the signatures as proof the food is good; that is what they brought with them, not what the wall says.
- Several writers put it at a one-minute walk from Munjeong station, and one gives 98 metres. Out of exit 3, opposite the Twosome Place, right under the bridge between the blocks. But two others say five minutes, and one came out of exit 1 — M-Stay is a large complex of A, B and C blocks, so it depends where you surface. Coming up from the car park you want the door by the gimbap shop in block A; one writer walked the whole way round the building before finding it.

Most of what is written about parking is copied. The line about two free hours on level 2 of the M-Stay car park appears in a dozen posts, near enough word for word, lifted from the Naver listing. Five writers actually parked, and the five do not agree — one found block A full and used block C, one recommends the A2 and B1 entrances, and one says the owner keys in a code that gives two and a half hours on weekdays, four hours after nine in the evening and four and a half at weekends. How much time you actually get is worth asking at the counter.

Nobody says whether you can get in with a wheelchair or a pushchair. Across all thirty posts the words for wheelchair, pushchair, threshold, ramp and step do not appear once. Two posts list an accessible parking bay, but both of those lines are copied from the Naver listing, not written by anyone who parked there. We know it is on the ground floor. Whether there is a step at the door, we do not know.

What we do not know
- All thirty posts were written between 1 March and 9 May 2026 — ten weeks, and nothing on either side of them. Twelve end with the same block of hashtags, down to the character, and three declare a sponsorship or a tasting invitation (one was given ₩20,000 to spend, one tagged the post #sponsored, one calls itself a tasting-group write-up). We did not throw them out — all twelve name what they ordered, what it cost and how it was, in words of their own. But what we have read is one spring, and a spring in which the shop was gathering posts, and you should read it knowing that.
- There is no lavatory in the shop. One writer reports that you cross to block B, where there are separate men's and women's. Two other posts mention separate lavatories, but both of those lines are lifted whole from the Naver listing ('takeaway, booking, delivery, separate lavatories, wi-fi' all in one string), so we did not count them. Nobody says how far it is, whether it is locked, or whether you need to ask for a key.
- Ground floor. No one mentions stairs or a lift to reach it. But one writer coming from the underground car park had to take the lift up and then step outside the building — it does not connect from inside.
- Not a queueing place, but on an evening you may not get a seat. One writer found it full at seven on a Friday and was glad to have booked; one arrived at half past seven and watched people turn round and leave for want of a table; one came at nine and had a table set outside for them. The other twenty-seven say nothing about waiting — most were collecting a box, or came early. No one puts a number on the wait.
- Two telephone numbers appear. Most posts give 0507-1318-1555; one gives 02-2283-1555. The 0507 prefix is a forwarding number that hides the real line, so both may reach the shop, or one may be the old number. We have not rung either.
- Most of what is written about how the chicken is prepared comes off a notice on the wall — thigh meat only, skin and fat trimmed twice, curry powder and pepper in the batter to take the smell off. Several writers copy it. Four write from their own mouth that there is no off taste, and two of those four are talking about the fried gizzard, not the chicken.
