JYOJYO

죠죠 문래점 Jyojyo Mullaejeom One post says Jyojyo comes from the Japanese jōjō (上々), meaning 'couldn't be better'; it is a branch of a Seoul teppan chain.

Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

Jyojyo Mullae is a Japanese teppan restaurant in a red-brick building on Dorim-ro 139-gil, in the Mullae arts quarter. Every table has a built-in griddle, and staff cook the monjayaki and okonomiyaki on it in front of you. Our visitors most often ordered the monjayaki set for two (mentaiko monjayaki, spicy yakisoba and potato salad, 39,500 won; 11 posts) and the signature set for two (okonomiyaki, yakisoba and tonpeiyaki; 8 posts). Couples who added drinks paid 46,500, 47,500 and 48,000 won. We read 30 posts dated 3 September to 18 October 2026. We set aside 2 that were about other restaurants and 1 roundup that only introduced the place, which leaves 27 posts from people who actually ate here.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. 24 of the 27 visits say staff cooked the food on the table griddle. For monjayaki they fry the cabbage, pour and spread the batter, then set a five-minute timer; one post says staff 'turned up right as it rang and lowered the heat.' Four posts say the okonomiyaki takes about 15 minutes. Four people who ordered monjayaki and okonomiyaki together say the okonomiyaki came out finished from the kitchen instead of being cooked at the table.
  2. Expect to wait in the evening. 8 posts say they waited and 2 say they didn't, and both of those came on weekday lunchtimes. The waits people wrote down were 30 minutes (a Thursday evening), about 40 minutes (signed up on Tabling at 6:20 on a weekday, seated at 7), about an hour (from 6:30 pm), just over an hour, and an hour and a half (a birthday dinner). One person found no line at 6 pm, played table tennis for half an hour, then waited an hour. Another walked straight in at 7, and a line had formed by the time they were eating. You sign up on the Tabling machine outside, and one post mentions chairs out front to sit on while you wait.
  3. 9 posts call the karai yakisoba spicy. Five of them say the heat is gentle: 'less spicy than Shin Ramyun', 'just a little hot.' Several say they ate it between bites of the cheesy monjayaki.
  4. 10 posts drank beer here or mention that it's sold. The 200 ml 'sneaky Suntory' was 4,000 won a glass and Hanmac draught was 5,000; one post found the small glass too small and ordered more. One post saw other tables drinking at lunch, and two people had beer in the daytime themselves.

  1. 9 posts say the room is bigger than expected, with plenty of tables. One counted about 12 tables, mostly for four. Two mention a room-like private space, and two more describe seats screened off with a bamboo blind or a roller blind.

Getting inside

Toilet inside5 of 27 posts
Separate restrooms2 of 27 posts

No one described from their own visit which floor the restaurant is on or whether there are stairs. Only the address says ground floor. That doesn't mean there are stairs; it means nobody wrote about it.

No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. One visit was made with a child, and one post mentions a high chair.

5 posts say from their own visit that the toilet is inside the restaurant, and 2 say it is separated by gender. One says it is down the inner corridor; another calls an indoor toilet 'Mullae's biggest drawback, solved.'

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Most of the opening hours in these posts are copied from the listing. From 23 September, posts mostly give Monday to Thursday 11:30 to 22:00 with a 15:30 to 17:00 break, Friday and Saturday 11:30 to 23:00, Sunday 11:30 to 22:00, and no break Friday to Sunday. Three posts up to 14 September say '11:30 to 22:00 every day' with the same break, so the hours seem to have changed in that window. Two posts (12 and 16 October) say the restaurant closes every Tuesday, while the others say it opens on Tuesdays. Most give a 22:00 Sunday close, but two say 23:00. Check before you go.
  • Four posts put the signature set for two at 39,000 won. One order screen, with spicy yakisoba in the set, shows 40,000, and a clip attached to a 23 September post says 38,000. No one said whether it was expensive or cheap.
  • Five posts say they booked ahead. Most used Naver booking, and one switched to Tabling's remote queue when Naver slots were full. Several posts list the same phone number, 0507-1326-4935, but nobody says they booked by phone.
  • Many posts look like they come from one template. Most titles start with the same phrase, 'Mullae-dong date restaurant'; four share an identical hashtag block, and one pasted those keywords into its body text. One post discloses sponsorship, two show proof they paid, and the rest say nothing either way. The claim that this belongs to a chef from the TV show Culinary Class Wars 2 comes from a banner outside the restaurant and from hearsay, so we have not relied on it.
