Omokgyo Gopchang

오목교곱창 Omokgyo is the Omok Bridge neighborhood and subway station in Mokdong, and gopchang is grilled beef small intestine.

Compiled from 27 blog posts read in fullSources →

Omokgyo Gopchang is a beef-intestine grill house on the ground floor of 226-13 Mokdongdong-ro, down an alley from Omokgyo Station exit 1. Its signature is gopchang stuffed with Seosan garlic (28,900 won a portion), alongside a mixed platter (27,900); staff flame and grill it on a griddle at your table, a spicy soft-tofu stew comes free at the start, and most people finish with fried rice (6,900). We read 30 posts dated 11 August to 14 October 2026: 28 record an actual meal, one only describes the place, and one turned out to be about another gopchang shop nearby. Twenty-two posts land between 7 and 14 October with near-identical titles, order and house slogans, so a lot of this reads like commissioned copy.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. The staff do the cooking. Twenty-five posts describe a server torching the griddle in a burst of flame or grilling the gopchang for them; one mother writes that her child watched the flames for a long time. Others mention staff laying the house leek kimchi in the rendered fat and telling them to eat the heart first.
  2. The intestines are par-grilled in the kitchen first; ten posts say so, one adding that about three more minutes on the table is enough. Only the heart comes raw, to be seared briefly.
  3. A lot comes free. Twenty-three posts say the spicy soft-tofu stew, raw tripe or raw liver arrived without being ordered; the stew comes in a large earthen pot set on the burner, and two posts note a second pot costs 8,900 won. Several also mention a hangover drink handed out at the till.
  4. Four posts asked for and got more side dishes: raw liver a second time in two cases, the leek kimchi several times, and bean sprouts, chives and leek kimchi in another.

  1. Thirteen posts say there was no offal smell; one writes that a companion who normally avoids innards for that reason ate more than she did.
  2. Nineteen posts walked from Omokgyo Station; ten put it at about three minutes, one at five. It sits inside an alley rather than on the main road, and one writer advises following the map because the sign is hard to see from the bigger street.
  3. Ten posts call the room spacious and seven call it clean, with repeated remarks that tables are far enough apart to talk. The figures of 64 or 70 seats for groups are copied from the house's own listing.
  4. Seven posts mention a self-service photo booth near the entrance that prints black-and-white shots like a receipt.

Getting inside

Toilet inside2 of 27 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 27 posts

No post describes the floor from experience; we only have '1st floor' in the address.

Nobody says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. That means we don't know, not that it's fine.

Two posts say the toilet is inside the restaurant and one says it is separated by sex and clean; no one else mentions it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Few posts actually report waiting: one queued, one walked straight in after the dinner rush, and one got the last free table on a Friday evening. There is a sign-up tablet at the door; the rewards for 20-, 40- and 60-minute waits are the house's own promotion, copied by several posts.
  • Company: friends in four posts, family in three (two with children), a husband or fiancé in three. A mother notes free rice balls for her child and individually wrapped cutlery; several posts mention after-work office groups filling the room.
  • Sixteen posts give opening hours, almost all copied from the Naver listing. The most common version: Monday-Thursday 16:00-22:40, Friday 15:00-22:40, weekends 12:10-22:40, last order 22:00. Three say 16:00 every day, two say Friday also opens at 12:10, and one August post has Friday and Saturday closing at 23:00 with last order at 22:20. Only one post mentions closing days, saying it opens year-round.
  • Prices are consistent across September-October 2026 posts: garlic gopchang 28,900 won, mixed or plain gopchang 27,900, large intestine 25,900, fried rice 6,900, soju 5,000. Two portions of garlic gopchang come to 57,800. No one calls it expensive, but hardly anyone gives a full bill, so a meal for two has to be added up from the menu.
  • Posts split on the daily cap for garlic gopchang: five say 20 portions, four say 30. Several warn it sells out later in the evening, but no one reports actually missing it.
  • Nine posts give the same phone number, 0507-1330-5399. One booked ahead, another recommends booking through Naver for weekend evenings, and one copies the note that groups over 12 should phone.
  • One post warns there are no hoods over the tables, so the smell can cling to clothes; another mentions a deodorizer spray left out for leaving guests.
  • Five posts disclose sponsorship, and one shows paying 7,800 won for a 57,800-won order. Claims such as same-day slaughter, a 30-year recipe, a sauce aged 72 hours from 15 ingredients and leek kimchi made every Friday are the house's own lines repeated by writers; we did not count them as findings.
