Soyangin Magok-jeom

소양인 마곡점 The house explains its name on the wall: so for beef, yang for sea salt from the southern coast, and in for ginseng from Jinan — the ingredients it says it cures its meat with.

Compiled from 30 blog posts read in fullSources →

Soyangin Magok is a charcoal-grill house on the ground floor of the Magok GMG Tower, a short walk from Exit 3 of Magok Station; several posts describe it as the second branch of Soyangin in Seonyudo. You grill the beef yourself over charcoal at the table — garlic-heaped rib-finger, plain aged rib-finger, cubed beef — plus cubed lamb loin, with yukhoe and meal dishes like cold corn noodles, crab bibimbap and beef-radish soup. À la carte, a portion of either rib-finger was 24,000 won, 210 g of lamb loin 28,000 won and Hanwoo yukhoe 29,000 won; posts from late September into October keep mentioning a 49,000-won opening set of 200 g of each rib-finger plus 150 g of yukhoe. We read 31 posts dated 22 June to 14 October 2026; 30 describe an actual visit.

Rows without a count: 2 of 22 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Twenty-two posts called it clean, and they say why: hardly any grease on the floor and a white interior, marble tables, extraction strong enough that the smoke never stung anyone's eyes. Two posts spotted fabric deodorizer by the till. Many add that the place had only just opened.
  2. Eleven posts ordered from a tablet or kiosk at the table; one adds that you pay at the counter on the way out.
  3. Ten posts found the staff kind, and the details are about grilling: keep turning the marinated cuts, and do the plain aged rib-finger before the garlic one (two posts). One writer's mother had a cold and asked for warm water; with no water dispenser, staff boiled some for her.
  4. Eight posts found the portions generous, mostly the yukhoe: free yukhoe is usually a mouthful, one wrote, but here there was enough that the two of them didn't have to fight over it. Another thought the meat looked small until it was grilled and cut.
3 more
  1. Eight posts said there was no gamey smell — including two about the lamb loin; the rest were about the yukhoe and beef. Thirteen mentioned juiciness and nine said the cuts were thick.
  2. Eight posts mention outdoor tables in front; two say there was only one, and one saw diners with a dog eating outside. All eight date from 26 September on. A June post only says the open folding doors gave an outdoor feel, so we can't tell whether outdoor tables existed earlier.
  3. Nine posts walked from the station: two minutes, under three minutes, 200 m from Magok Station Exit 3, visible from the exit itself. A couple warn that map apps route you around the back and first-timers may hunt for it.

Parking

1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park1 of 30 posts

Only one post speaks from experience about parking: easy, with free parking validated. The line about 90 minutes free in the GMG Tower car park appears in many posts' copied info blocks, so we don't count it.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 3 (of 30 posts read)

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. Three posts say it is on the ground floor.

No post describes the toilet. One copied info block says there is a toilet in the building, so we can't say whether it is inside the restaurant or shared.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 31 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on size split by date: two posts from June–July 2026 said it isn't big, three from September–October called it fairly roomy with wide spacing. No post says anything changed in between. Three counted about ten four-person tables, one about seven, and three mention an eight-person table.
  • No post reports waiting — which means nobody wrote about it, not that there is never a wait. Several found it full at dinner: one weekday it filled from 5:40 and was nearly full by 6:10; another was packed by 7. Three posts booked ahead, and two walked straight in by arriving at opening or before the after-work rush.
  • Two posts brought children; one sat at the front so the kids could play outside in view, and a June post noted high chairs.
  • Twenty-two posts list hours, all copied from info blocks: mostly weekdays 11:00–23:00 with a 14:00–17:00 break, weekends 11:00–22:00 without a break. One says Fridays also close at 22:00, two say 23:00 daily, and a July post has weekday and weekend swapped. Only one gives last orders (22:00 weekdays, 21:00 weekends). One post says it opens every day. Phone 070-4231-0928; several mention Naver booking.
  • Six posts called it good value, mostly about the 49,000-won opening set or the free yukhoe with meat; in June the promotion was a 100-won bottle of soju instead. Nobody has yet written what a meal costs once the promotions end. Four posts mention a review event (a free drink, or 2,000 won off per review).
  • A June menu list shows cubed beef ribeye (kkotdeungsim); cubed nunkkotsal appears from late September, and an October post calls it new. We can't tell if it is a rename or a different cut.
  • Most posts follow a similar pattern: two groups (four posts and three) end with the same 13 hashtags in the same order, and nearly every post repeats the line about 48-hour aging with southern-coast sea salt and Jinan red ginseng — copied from a wall sign, so we don't treat it as evidence. One post discloses sponsorship, one says it was an invited review, and the rest say nothing.
