Seochon Kimssi Osteria
서촌김씨 오스테리아 Seochon Kimssi means 'the Kims of Seochon', a name carried over from chef Kim Do-hyung's earlier Seochon restaurants, and an osteria is a modest Italian eatery.

An Italian tasting-menu restaurant at the end of a second-floor corridor in the GMG L-Star building, 209 Gonghang-daero, between Magok and Balsan stations, by reservation only. There is one eight-plate course and nothing à la carte; of ten posts giving a price, nine say 92,000 won a head and one from early November 2025 says 98,000. The whole menu is replaced every few months: posts through February 2026 ate the 9th menu (potato and caviar, maitake, matcha tiramisu), April to September the 10th (tomato and basil, flounder carpaccio, black-sesame tiramisu), October the 11th; the white lasagna and sirloin appear in all three. Most diners went as a couple for a birthday or anniversary. We read 30 posts from 1 November 2025 to 16 October 2026; 24 describe an actual visit.

What sets it apart
- The kitchen is fully open to the room: 15 posts say so, one adding you can see which ingredient and which pan is in use at any moment. Several note that two chefs cook, serve and explain each plate themselves, and four remark on how clean the kitchen is.
- It is small. Five posts count just three tables (three four-tops), four call the room small or not spacious, and only one sponsored post calls it large. Tables are well spaced, and two posts had the place to themselves and loved it. Two sat at the round window table.
- Dinner requires a bottle: four posts say they had to order one (not by the glass), and non-drinkers chose non-alcoholic wine or sparkling. Lunch carries no drink requirement. Five posts repeat that lunch is corkage-free, but only one actually brought a bottle.
- Seventeen posts booked ahead, mostly through Naver or CatchTable; a party of five booked by phone with a 50,000-won-per-person deposit. Six say that noting a birthday on the booking got a candle in the tiramisu, brought out by the chef, and one family's own cake was kept in the fridge for them.

No post mentions a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. We only know it is on the second floor and three posts took the lift. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is no access.
No one says whether the toilet is inside the restaurant or out in the corridor. Separate men's and women's toilets appear only in one post's copied listing.

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

What we do not know
- The menu may differ from what you get: only one post (October 2026) ate the 11th menu, and one was told it changes two or three times a year with the seasons. Accounts of the steak differ too: two say doneness isn't asked because it is sous-vide, one ordered medium-rare.
- Price: no one gives a price for the 11th menu. The 92,000 won figure comes from posts dated December 2025 to May 2026; one early-November 2025 post says 98,000. No one lists the caviar or truffle supplements.
- Opening hours are copied from the shop's listing, not observed, and the copies disagree. Four posts say closed Mondays, two say open. Five say Sunday is lunch only, closing at 14:30, 14:40 or 14:50 depending on the post. The afternoon break is 15:00-17:00 in five posts and 14:30-17:00 in one.
- No one queued; with reservations only, getting a booking is the hurdle. One post found every lunch table taken; two had the room to themselves (one dinner, one weekday lunch).
- Five posts list the phone number 070-7788-7316; one party of five had to book by phone rather than online.
- Five posts from late November to early December 2025 (two of them declared as sponsored) repeat the same points in the same order: four years in the Michelin Guide, corkage-free lunch, a Christmas date spot. The Michelin listing belongs to the chef's other restaurant, Seochon Kimssi Ristorante; we treat it as copied material, not evidence.
