Todaktodak
토닭토닭 A pun on todak-todak, the Korean word for gentle comforting pats, with dak (chicken) worked into it; the posts do not explain the name.

Todaktodak is a charcoal-grilled chicken place that opened in summer 2026 at 31 Jungnim-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, near exit 5 of Chungjeongno Station. Chicken galbi comes to the table already seared over charcoal; staff cut and finish it on your grill, and you wrap it with vegetables and sauce in tortilla-like wrappers. The most-ordered item is the two-person set (43,000 won) of salt-grilled and marinated galbi plus neck, inner-thigh and cartilage cuts; common sides are perilla-oil buckwheat noodles (11,000 won at dinner), octopus fried rice (9,000 won) and seafood soft-tofu stew (8,000 won). Lunch service began in September 2026, and weekday lunch now offers set meals such as spicy braised ribs or braised mackerel (13,000 won) and noodles (12,000 won). We read 30 posts dated 4 September to 13 October 2026; 28 of them describe an actual meal. Four disclose sponsorship, one says the writer paid, the rest say nothing. Phone 0507-1325-3392; four posts say you can book.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Staff do the grilling. Of the 28 meal posts, 17 say staff cut and cooked the chicken, often moving finished pieces to a side plate. Two say staff cut it and put it on, then left them to grill it themselves. Some posts note that the special cuts (neck, inner thigh, cartilage) arrive raw and are grilled by the diners.
- The galbi arrives pre-seared over charcoal; 14 posts say so, and several note it needs only a short time on the table grill. Some mention seeing the searing station in a corner of the room.
- Despite the red colour, most posts found it mild: six said it was not spicy (four about the marinated galbi, two about the lunch braised ribs), while two found the marinated galbi spicy. Several say they added heat with the hot sauce on the table.
- You order from a tablet or kiosk at each table; nine posts mention it. Two say the screen also shows the wifi and toilet details, and one paid at a kiosk by the door.
5 more
- Side dishes and sauces are refilled from a self-service bar; five posts mention it, and one was told to help themselves after asking staff. Five or six sauces are set out, including mayonnaise, sweet chilli, mustard, a hot sauce and ssamjang.
- Ten posts call the room spacious and ten call it clean, pointing to marble-look tables, black walls, extraction hoods at each table and the absence of grease. Four mention floor-to-ceiling windows. The '4 to 64 seats for groups' line is copied shop information, so we did not count it.
- Six posts walked from Chungjeongno Station exit 5, giving times of 4, 5 and 5 minutes; one says it is straight downhill from the exit, another walked on to Seoul Station afterwards and found it close.
- Waiting depends on the hour. Two posts had no wait (weekday 11:35 lunch, Sunday 6 pm); one says a queue formed after 8 pm. Two others say the room filled up by 6 pm on a Saturday or by the end of their meal, without saying whether anyone queued. Four posts say booking is possible, and two of them booked.
- Six posts mention a receipt-review offer of a free bottle of soju or beer, and one says they drank the beer that way. This may help explain the volume of promotional posts.

Two posts drove and parked in the building's underground car park without trouble. 'One hour free' and 'ten-plus spaces' are copied shop information; one post's info block instead says to use a paid lot nearby.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
Six posts walked from Chungjeongno Station exit 5, giving times of 4, 5 and 5 minutes; one says it is straight downhill from the exit, another walked on to Seoul Station afterwards and found it close.
Getting inside
| Toilet inside | yes 0 · no 3 (of 27 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Separate restrooms | 2 of 27 posts |
The address is basement level 1, unit B01, but no post says whether you go down stairs or take a lift. Four posts mention big street-facing windows, so it may not feel like a basement, but nobody described the way in, so we do not know.
No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in; that is unknown, not absent. Two posts came with children and two mention high chairs, but none mentions a pushchair.
The toilet is outside the restaurant: three posts say you use the building's (or the next building's) facilities, one noting a door code. Two say it is separated by sex, and one found it roomy with several stalls.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The single portion of salt or marinated galbi went up in September: posts from 4, 9 and 18 September give 13,000 won, the menu in a 24 September post and a 1 October post give 14,000 won. Five posts call the prices reasonable. The same buckwheat noodles cost 12,000 won at lunch and 11,000 won at dinner.
- Opening hours changed over time. An info block in an 8 September post says weekdays 15:00–23:00 (dinner only); posts on 30 September and 13 October say lunch service had just begun. The most common listing now is weekdays 11:00–23:00 with a 14:00–15:00 break, weekends 12:30–23:00, last order 22:30. One post gives an 11:00 weekend start, one says 12:30 every day, and the shop's own 11 October post still says weekdays from 15:00. All of this is copied information; only one post states there is no closing day.
- Posts disagree on the set's special cuts: three say 100 g of each, one says 70 g. Extra wrappers are given as 500 won in one post and 1,500 won in another.
- Only four posts disclose sponsorship, but six share the same hashtag set, so we think more were commissioned. The shop's own post (11 October) and a three-venue route post (8 October) were not counted as visits. Claims such as 'domestic chicken' and 'charcoal-seared' are often repeated from the shop's own wording.
