Itcheu Kkwabaegi

잇츠꽈배기 Itcheu is the English "it's" written in Hangul, and kkwabaegi is the Korean twisted fried doughnut, so the name reads "It's kkwabaegi".

Compiled from 16 blog posts read in fullSources →

Itcheu Kkwabaegi is a takeaway twisted-doughnut shop near exit 10 of Dongdaemun Station, across from the Jongno flower-market alley (Jongno 41-gil 10). A plain twist or a glutinous-rice doughnut is 1,300 won each or 3,500 won for three, alongside odder items: a dongpo-pork burger (5,500 won), a cheese-stuffed doughnut called Deo Chijeu (3,000 won) and a chocolate-condensed-milk box (11,000 won). You order at a kiosk out front and carry it away; one post says three adults fill the shop. We read 30 posts from May 12 to October 16, 2026: 18 describe a visit, 3 mention the shop without visiting (delivery and the like), and 9 turned out to be about other places.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Ordering is done at a kiosk standing outside the shop: 8 of the 18 visit posts say so. One regular notes you can probably order inside too, but uses the kiosk because the owner always looks swamped.
  2. This is a carry-away shop. 14 posts took their food elsewhere — to Heunginjimun Park, the Han River, home or the office. One post says staff advised reheating the cheese doughnut for about three minutes in an air fryer once it cools.
  3. Ten posts call the outside crisp, usually as "crisp outside, chewy inside". Two say it held up after the trip home. Claims about glutinous-rice dough mixed fresh every morning come from the shop, so we didn't count them.
  4. The cheese items have a kick: five posts call the red seasoning on the Deo Chijeu or the mozzarella stick spicy. One post says you choose the signature seasoning or plain sugar.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 16 posts

Only one post speaks to parking firsthand: there's none, take transit. Five more copy "no parking" from an info listing. Several posts say it's an easy walk from Dongdaemun Station.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

8 posts say it is walkable from the station.

Getting inside

No post says what floor the shop is on or whether there are steps. That means nobody wrote it down, not that there are none.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or wheelchair or stroller access. Orders go through an outdoor kiosk, but no post describes its height or the doorway.

No post mentions a restroom or where one might be; for a tiny takeaway counter, nobody raised it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 19 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • There are no tables inside. On seating, one post says two chairs outside let you eat on the spot; another says there's nowhere to eat, just a stool outside for waiting. A third waited on the two chairs out front.
  • On greasiness it's four to one: four posts found the burger or cheese items not heavy, one said the mozzarella stick was greasy until dipped in sauce.
  • Two posts mention waiting. A June regular says you always have to wait; a May visitor arriving at 10:20 a.m. found people already waiting inside and stood outside. Nobody said how many minutes.
  • Company doesn't add up to a pattern: one post went with friends, one with a partner, one with a husband, and the rest didn't say.
  • Nine posts list opening hours, all copied from a listing. All nine give weekdays 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; eight give Saturdays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., one says until 8 p.m. Seven say closed Sundays. One notes holidays may differ.
  • Prices split by date. A June 19, 2026 post gave 1,500 won for one plain twist (3,500 won for three); posts from July 21 on give 1,300 won (3,500 for three). With only one June post we can't tell a price cut from a typo. One visitor paid 5,100 won for a twist, a hot dog and a doughnut. Three posts call it cheap.
  • Five posts give the phone number as 0507-1379-1889; one gives 070-8680-1888. One post thinks bulk orders go by phone, but nobody wrote about reservations.
  • Many posts follow one template: order the pork burger and the cheese doughnut, repeat the shop's "dough made fresh every morning" line or its Pangyo department-store pop-up dates. There are seven, and only two disclose sponsorship. One May post says it was written precisely because there were so many ad reviews; two posts state they paid their own way.
