Jinhyang Jokbal
진향족발 Jokbal is pig's trotters braised in a seasoned broth; the posts give no meaning for the name Jinhyang.
Compiled from 19 blog posts read in fullSources →
A jokbal (braised pig's trotter) house on the ground floor of 231-1 Jongno, near exit 4 of Jongno 5-ga station. We read 30 posts from 27 September to 15 October 2026 and counted the 19 that describe a visit. Of those 19, 18 ordered the front trotter (45,000 won) and 18 the platter makguksu (18,000 won). Trotters are boiled ahead, stacked near the door and sliced to order. A kimchi bean-sprout soup, lettuce, chive salad and radish kimchi come with every table. Miljinhyang in Euljiro is described as a second shop by the same owner. We did not count its seven posts here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Of the 17 posts that described the room, 16 called it spacious: wide gaps between tables, and one floor running deep into the back. One writer saw a company dinner in progress. The "great for groups" line itself, though, recurs almost word for word across the promotional cluster.
- Twelve posts said the portions were large, and the noodles came up again and again as a heap. Two women ate only a third of the meat and took the rest home. Another writer said one front trotter was too much for two, and one called trotter plus noodles enough for two to three people.
- Twelve posts said there was no porky smell, and none said otherwise. On the herbal note they differ: one barely noticed it, another found a faint herbal scent. Two posts called the seasoning mild.
- Seven posts saw a discount posted, mostly 2,000 won off takeaway orders. One saw a 2,000-won bundle of a trotter with two bottles of Hanmac beer. Four mentioned a receipt-review promotion that gets you a free drink.
2 more
- Ten posts described getting there. From exit 4 of Jongno 5-ga station they gave 1, 2, 2, 2, 3 and 7 minutes on foot. One writer came by the 104 bus, and another said both subway and bus stops are close.
- Three posts went with children, two of them over the Chuseok holiday. One said a five-year-old gave a thumbs-up at the first bite, and another noticed many families with kids at other tables. Nobody mentioned high chairs.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 2 of 19 posts |

We don't know whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in; nobody wrote about it. One post said the shop is on the ground floor.
Two posts said the toilet is inside, and one said it is split by gender. Whether there is an accessible toilet we don't know.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 21 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Nearly every post here repeats the same lines in the same order: certified domestic trotters, 300 portions a day, 13 medicinal herbs, no artificial smoke flavouring, 2,000 won off takeaway. Nearly all order the same front trotter and noodles, and they fall within three weeks. Only three disclose a sponsored or invited visit. The one self-paid writer noted that the place also hosts reviewer campaigns. We treat those lines as the shop's own claims, not evidence.
- No post reports waiting. One found it nearly full on a weekday evening but got a table straight away, and another found it empty at 3 p.m. on a weekend. "Sells out early" is the shop's line; nobody wrote that they were turned away. That isn't proof there is never a wait, only that nobody reported one.
- One post found it loud around 7 p.m., with staff too busy to catch easily for refills. Three posts called the staff friendly.
- Opening hours appear in 16 posts, all as 11:00–23:00 daily, but always copied from an info block. Nobody mentioned a break or last order, and two posts said there is no regular closing day.
- Prices do not vary across the September–October 2026 posts: 45,000 won for the front trotter, 18,000 won for the noodles. One group of three had trotter, noodles and makgeolli for 68,000 won. Nobody called it expensive or cheap.
- Many posts gave the phone number 02-745-5533. The "Naver booking available" line is copied info. One family actually booked, over the Chuseok holiday, and another post relays a notice that groups of ten or more should phone ahead.
