Ichunbok Chamchi Jonggak-jeom

이춘복참치 종각점 Lee Chun-bok is a personal name and chamchi means tuna; this is the Jonggak branch of the Lee Chun-bok Tuna chain.

Compiled from 15 blog posts read in fullSources →

Lee Chun-bok Tuna's Jonggak branch is a chain tuna house in the Seoul YMCA building on Jongno. Evenings run on refill courses, where the platter of tuna is topped up again. Menus copied into 2026 posts list per-person prices of 38,000 won for the Special, 46,000 for the chef's pick, 59,000 for Ilpum and 87,000 for Honmaguro. Each course comes with porridge, soup and side dishes, and ends with roe rice and hand rolls. At lunch there are set meals (23,000, 29,000 and 39,000 won), a 24,000-won sushi platter, and rice bowls, cutlets and udon. We read 21 posts dated February 26 to October 9, 2026. Seventeen describe actually eating here; the other 4 are multi-restaurant roundups, which we did not count.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. There are private rooms; seven posts mention them. One couple was shown to a two-person floor room numbered R8, another group booked ahead and got their own room, and a family was moved to an inner room when the hall was full at weekend lunch. Of the three posts that describe floor seating, two say there is a well under the table for your legs. One post skipped a two-person room because its seats had no backrest. One writer advises booking ahead if you want a room, and four posts say they booked.
  2. No post called it expensive. Of the seven that talk about price, five describe it as good value or not a burden. Opinions on the refills split, though. Two posts say each round leaned more on cheap cuts like akami and got smaller; two others say the refills kept coming and were cut to order.
  3. Seven posts say it is close to the station. One says it is a two-to-three-minute walk from Jonggak Station exit 3. A roundup post said exit 8, but it did not describe a visit, so we did not count it.
  4. Two posts describe an open kitchen near the entrance; one says the lunch food comes out of it remarkably fast. Another says the dinner spread was on the table within five minutes of sitting down.

  1. One post came with a child. The parents chose it because there are dishes for people who don't eat tuna, such as hire katsu, Japanese curry, udon and cold soba, and the child ate all the shrimp tempura. No post mentions high chairs or changing tables.

Parking

2 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot2 of 15 posts

There is no parking at the restaurant; two posts say parking isn't possible or is hard. A family that drove parked at the nearby Gran Seoul building for 9,000 won for the whole day and walked over.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

Seven posts say it is close to the station. One says it is a two-to-three-minute walk from Jonggak Station exit 3. A roundup post said exit 8, but it did not describe a visit, so we did not count it.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 15 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 15 posts

The address says ground floor, but no visitor wrote about floors or stairs. One post only notes that you can see the counter seats and kitchen through a large front window.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That means nobody wrote about it, not that access is impossible. Some of the rooms have floor seating.

One post says the restroom is inside the restaurant and separated by gender. No other post mentions it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 19 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices have gone up. A September 2026 post says the Special rose by 2,000 won per person from the previous year. A March 2026 post says lunch prices had risen too, without giving the old figure. The prices above are the ones given in 2026 posts.
  • No post describes waiting. One solo diner found free tables at 1 p.m. Another arrived just after the afternoon break, was nearly the first guest, and watched it fill up behind them. One post found lunch hectic. We don't know how long the wait is on busy evenings.
  • Company is spread out: three posts came as a group (a work dinner or a reunion), two with friends, two as couples, two with family, and one alone.
  • All the opening hours we found were copied from listings, and the closing time is in dispute. Eight posts agree on a 2:30-4:30 p.m. break and four on a 23:00 Sunday close. For other days, four posts say 23:30 and four say midnight. Check before planning a late visit.
  • Posts give three phone numbers: 02-723-4558, 02-734-4558 and 0507-1340-4558. Posts that booked used Naver or Catch Table.
