Eulji Golbaengi
을지골뱅이 Eulji is short for Euljiro, the old printing district the shop sits in, and golbaengi are whelks: the house's one main dish is a big bowl of spicy whelk salad with shredded scallion.

A whelk-salad house in the Euljiro 3-ga whelk alley (43-1 Suphyo-ro, Jung-gu). There is essentially one dish: a 31,000-won plate of whelks with shredded scallion, which comes with a rolled omelette and a pot of fishcake soup. Carrot sticks and peanut crackers arrive as free bar snacks, and you can toss noodles (4,000 won) in the leftover dressing. Posts up to February 2026 put the whelks at 30,000 won. We read 15 posts dated 16 January to 12 October 2026; 13 of them describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Ten posts describe free bar snacks arriving first: raw carrot sticks and the little peanut balls you find in a bag of squid-peanut crackers.
- The omelette and fishcake soup are refilled. Five posts actually got more. One says they had refills three times; another got the omelette twice more and the soup once, at the same size as the first serving.
- Food comes out fast: three posts say so, and one timed the whelks at two or three minutes after ordering.
- Three posts say you can charge your phone at the table, and three mention a wall-mounted TV showing sports.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

There is an upstairs. Eight posts mention second-floor seating, mostly used by groups. One found it already full of a booked party; another saw a group of 20 up there. Three posts sat at or described the ground-floor tables. One post says the upstairs is reached by a separate staircase to the left of the shop.
We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in; nobody wrote about it. One post says the upstairs is reached by stairs, and none mentions a lift.
The toilet is inside the shop, according to five posts. Two of them say it is unisex, and one says it is at the very back and was kept clean.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 14 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opinions on heat differ. Six posts call it spicy, one of them tongue-numbingly so; one post says it is pungent but not hot. Those who found it hot say the soup and omelette helped.
- Prices went up: whelks were 30,000 won and soju 5,000 won in February 2026, and from April 2026 they are 31,000 won and 5,500 won. No post calls it expensive; four say it is cheap or generous for the price.
- Nobody wrote about waiting. Posts describe the room as nearly full on a Thursday around 9 pm, or packed throughout, but no one says they queued or waited for a table. That does not mean there is no wait, only that nobody recorded one.
- Ten posts give the same hours, 1 pm to 2 am daily, and two add that there is no closing day. All of these were copied from the listing rather than checked in person, and nobody mentions a last order time.
- Seven posts give the phone number as 02-2264-2870; one has 02-2284-2870, which looks like a typo. On booking, we only know that two posts saw booked groups upstairs; there is no word on a minimum party size.
- Three posts went with friends, two with a partner or fiancé, one with a husband and one with a work group. Nobody went alone or with children.
- Of the 15 posts, two disclose sponsorship and one says the writer was invited. Three share the same info-box and TV-appearance template. One post made up only of generic praise with no specifics was not counted.
