Kkotgejangjip
꽃게장집 Kkotgejang is blue crab (kkotge) marinated raw in soy sauce or chili seasoning, and jip means house — literally 'the blue-crab gejang house'.

An all-you-can-eat soy and chili crab house on the second floor above a CU convenience store on Yangnyeongsi-ro, between Cheongnyangni Station and Gyeongdong Market. You order on a table kiosk, the first spread is brought to you, and after that you help yourself to crab from a fridge. A self-serve bar with japchae, sweet-potato fritters, sausages, cup noodles and fry-your-own eggs comes with it, and seating is limited to 80 minutes. It now costs 25,900 won on weekdays and 27,900 won on weekends, with a weekday-lunch set of two crabs at 15,900 won; posts through early August 2026 gave 24,900 won. We read 30 posts dated April 19 to October 19, 2026; 21 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- You fetch your own crab. Nineteen posts describe using the self-serve bar or refills, and most say only the first spread comes to the table — after that you take as much as you like from a fridge. Several note the top shells are there too; an August 29 post remarked that earlier reviews said they weren't, so it seems to have changed. A 5,000-won fee for leftovers comes up repeatedly. One post, from July 31, alone says staff bring refills when asked.
- The most repeated point is that the soy crab is not salty — twelve posts say so, some calling it mild or barely seasoned. Two posts found the soy crab mild but the chili crab saltier; one of them noted the crab isn't served sitting in brine, so those who like it salty can ladle extra soy sauce from the fridge.
- Posts split on how hot the chili crab is: four call it spicy, one says the heat is mild, and four say it is spicy yet not harsh without settling either way. Sliced cheongyang chili on top of the soy crab comes up often; a July 24 post warned it is a bit hot for those who avoid spice.
- Waits depend on timing. Of five posts that waited, those giving times waited 10–15 minutes at 11:40 on a weekday, 15 minutes at weekend lunch, 20 minutes on a Sunday evening and about 30 minutes shortly after a weekend opening; another saw a long line on the way out. Three posts walked straight in — at 4 p.m. on a weekday, noon on a Friday, and right at Saturday opening. One post says you write your name and party size on a paper list and get called; there is no app waitlist.
5 more
- There is somewhere to sit while waiting: five posts mention chairs on the stairs or by the entrance, one counting about eight.
- Seating is limited to 80 minutes — eight posts say so, and one thought it short at first but found it just right. An August 29 post stayed over 90 minutes with no comment from staff, perhaps because nobody was waiting.
- Ordering is on a kiosk at the table: eight posts say so, and one notes there is no paper menu.
- It is walkable from the station: five posts describe the walk from Cheongnyangni Station exits 1 or 2, or from a bus stop, putting it at about 8 to 10 minutes. One came by the 141 bus.
- Family outings dominate: six posts went with parents or siblings, two with a partner or spouse, one with a friend. Several also remark on the many older diners.

Parking

There is no restaurant parking — four posts say so. Drivers used Cheongnyangni Market Public Lot 3 (1,000 won per 10 minutes), a private lot (8,000 won for two hours), or the Lotte department store and Lotte Mart. One found the market lots full on a weekend; another says a market receipt halves the public-lot fee. One post notes the restaurant itself offers no parking discount.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
It is walkable from the station: five posts describe the walk from Cheongnyangni Station exits 1 or 2, or from a bus stop, putting it at about 8 to 10 minutes. One came by the 141 bus.
Getting inside
| Second floor | 8 of 21 posts |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | 1 of 21 posts |
| Separate restrooms | yes 0 · no 1 (of 21 posts read) |
It is upstairs: eight posts describe climbing the stairs beside the ground-floor CU convenience store to the second floor.
Posts only mention stairs. Nobody said whether there is a lift, whether a wheelchair or stroller can get up, or whether there is a step at the door — we don't know, which is not the same as no.
Only one post describes the restroom: inside the restaurant, a single unisex stall, roomy and clean. Another post lists the same in an info block, which we treat as copied and did not count.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 9 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Prices rose in August 2026. Eight posts up to August 10 list 24,900 won regardless of day (lunch set 14,900, children 11,900); ten posts from August 10 list 25,900 won on weekdays and 27,900 on weekends (lunch set 15,900, under-8s 12,900). One August 10 post called 24,900 a promotional price that might go up. The pot-rice upgrade is mostly given as 2,000 won extra, though some say 3,000.
- Opening hours mostly come from copied info blocks. The common version is 11:00–20:30 with a 15:00–16:00 break, last order 19:00, closed Wednesdays; three posts add a 14:00 last entry for lunch. An April 19 post gives 10:30–21:00 with last order 19:30, one August 10 post an 11:30 start, and one says 23:00, which looks like a typo.
- Most posts give the phone number 0507-1365-3153; one gives 02-959-5206 and another lists 070-4035-3153 for reservations. Nobody actually booked, and one post says online booking was closed and entry is first come, first served — we don't know whether reservations are taken.
- No post reports a move; a May 18 post only guessed the shop had recently relocated because it looked so clean. Claims that it began as a Gyeongdong Market side-dish shop in 1985, and that it uses Yeonpyeong or domestic female crab, are the shop's own lines or hearsay and were not counted.
- Eight posts from a single blog between October 12 and 19 follow the same wording and order, each with an identical directions-and-hours block and no account of eating there; we did not count them as visits. A one-line entry in a May 4 market roundup was likewise not counted.
