Two restaurants side by side on the 23rd floor of The Shilla Seoul, read as one entry: La Yeon, serving Korean tasting courses, and the Continental, serving French ones. We read 30 posts from 24 December 2024 to 25 October 2026; 7 describe an actual meal (5 at La Yeon, 2 at the Continental). As of October 2026 La Yeon's lunch course is 250,000 won and dinner 380,000 won, up from 220,000 and 350,000 in earlier posts. The main is a Hanwoo-abalone patty at lunch and Hanwoo sirloin at dinner, and all five La Yeon visits swapped in or added the braised short rib. Of the other 23 posts, 10 were about other outlets in the same hotel and were set aside, and 13 only list the name (card-promotion and guide roundups), so we did not count them.

What sets it apart
- Six of the seven visits talk about the staff. One writer, pregnant, was brought a back cushion straight away and had several dishes adjusted; another left a proposal ring with the staff, who brought it out on time at dessert; a third got a small birthday dessert and a kind word from the server.
- Four posts describe the view. Two say La Yeon's chilled squid dish is meant to mirror Namsan outside the window; at the Continental one couple watched the city turn to night from a window table. One diner who booked two weeks out got the last seat by the hall entrance, not the window.
- Five posts say they booked ahead. La Yeon opens bookings on the 1st of the month two months before, at 9 a.m. online and 10 a.m. by phone, according to one post. The deposit was written as 50,000 won or 20,000 won per person depending on the post, refunded after the meal.
- Three posts call it quiet: one says 'a quiet meal' describes the room best and that wide table spacing made a two-hour conversation easy; another contrasts the calm 23rd floor with the busy lobby.

Two posts mention valet parking: one gives the fee as 35,000 won, the other says construction made valet very slow and getting the car back took an hour, so arrive 30 minutes early. We don't know whether the works are still going on.

None of the visits mentions steps at the door or arriving by wheelchair or stroller; two say they took the lift to the 23rd floor. Wheelchair access appears only in a listing quoting the Michelin Guide, which we did not count — that means nobody wrote about it, not that it is impossible.
Nobody wrote where the toilets are or whether they are separated by gender.

Of the 20 posts we gathered, 13 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- La Yeon's prices depend on when: posts up to August 2026 give 220,000 won for lunch and 350,000 for dinner; October 2026 posts give 250,000 (autumn season) and 380,000. The only Continental prices (160,000-180,000 lunch, 380,000 dinner) were copied from Naver Place, so we don't rely on them. Add-ons like the short rib, gujeolpan or geumtang raise the bill considerably.
- Only La Yeon's hours were written, the same in three posts: lunch 12:00-14:30, dinner 17:30-21:30, with last orders at 13:00 and 19:30 per one post (one of the three copied it from an info block). Nobody wrote closing days or the Continental's hours.
- La Yeon's phone, 02-2230-3367, appears in two visit posts and several listings. Nobody gave a number for the Continental; both Continental visitors booked through CatchTable.
- No post describes queuing; every visit was booked ahead, so we don't know what happens if you turn up without a reservation.
- Only one post covers public transport, saying the hotel shuttle from Dongguk University Station is enough; nobody described walking up.
- Many posts follow one template: nine Hyundai Card Gourmet Week 28 announcements copy the same official list of participating restaurants. They are not meal records, so none are counted above.
