Silla Jemyeon's Anguk branch sells kalguksu from the ground floor of a former company chairman's mansion, down a lane off Gyedong-gil from Anguk Station exit 3; writers say the brand started in Gyeongju in 2022. The draw is kal-nakji, spicy stir-fried hand-cut noodles with octopus (28,000 won for two in October 2026), and kal-naksae with shrimp added (32,000 for two), both two-portion minimum. Most tables add clam noodle soup (11,000), a sliced-potato pancake (11,000) or the seafood pancake (20,000), then mix rice into the leftover sauce (3,000). Nearly everyone mentions the koi pond in the courtyard. We read 30 posts from November 2024 to October 2026; 22 describe a visit. We set aside a visit to the Gyeongju branch and a post about the café across the lane.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Expect to queue: 17 of the 22 visits mention a wait. Recorded waits were 5, 5, 15, 20, 30 and 30-plus minutes and an hour, plus nearly two hours on a holiday. One weekday visitor arrived at 10:55 and drew number 37 with 12 parties ahead. A weekend log shows walk-in at 11:30, 4 parties at 12:02 and 25 by 12:25. You join via the Tabling kiosk at the entrance or the app's remote queue; some used CatchTable.
- Even the mildest level reads as hot: 15 posts call it spicy, while one said the mild level wasn't that bad. Writers compared mild to Yeopgi Tteokbokki level 2 or Yeol Ramen and the hottest to Haek Buldak noodles. Several also noted a strong black-pepper note.
- Eight posts call the dining room spacious, usually split into two or three rooms around the counter; one guessed it seats 60 to 80. A holiday visitor felt the converted house has too few tables, hence the long wait.
- Four posts saw waiting chairs in the courtyard or left of the entrance; one said there is no dedicated waiting area but the courtyard does the job. On a long wait one family sat in a nearby café.
4 more
- Kal-nakji and kal-naksae require at least two portions, as six posts note; solo diners are left with the single-portion clam soup.
- Seven posts describe walking from Anguk Station via exit 3 and into the lane; one writer took exit 2 by mistake and had to double back.
- Five posts noticed many foreign diners, one mentioning tourists with suitcases; another mentioned an English menu.
- Family outings lead with five posts (mother and grandmother, father and sibling, sisters), followed by friends and couples. The only solo meal comes from a writer whose boyfriend works there.

Floor: two posts say the restaurant uses only the ground floor; one described a two-storey stone building that seems to use just the ground floor, so we don't know whether there is upstairs seating.
Steps and wheelchairs: nobody wrote from experience. Copied listings say wheelchair seating is available, but you enter through a courtyard and no one mentioned whether there is a step.
Toilets: one post says separate men's and women's toilets are inside, another found them clean; nobody mentioned an accessible toilet.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 6 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
| 2026-09-29 | 2 posts in one day |

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Prices have risen: in August 2025 kal-nakji was 13,000 won a head, clam soup and potato pancake 10,000 each; November 2025 gave 26,000 for two; October 2026 posts show 28,000 for two and 11,000 for the soup and pancake. One couple paid 55,000 for kal-naksae, the seafood pancake and a drink. Of five posts that judged value, four found it generous for the price and one felt it wasn't worth the money.
- The menu has changed too: posts up to November 2025 have no kal-naksae and only two spice options, mild and spicy; 2026 posts call kal-naksae new and list three levels.
- Opening hours: seventeen posts give 10:30–21:00 and thirteen a 20:20 last order; one says it opens at 10:00. The afternoon break has shifted: posts from November 2024 to November 2025 list 15:30–17:00, two posts from September–October 2026 say weekdays only, and one October 2026 post says there is none, and no closing day either. Most of this is copied information.
- Ordering: four posts ordered from a tablet at the table; one sat at a table without one and had to order at the counter. You pay on the way out.
- Speed is mixed: two posts say food came quickly, one waited 15–20 minutes, one about ten minutes, slower than expected.
- Staff: two posts found them friendly; one found the female staff curt and cold.
- Takeaway: one couple took leftover seafood pancake home, while another post says takeaway isn't offered; we can't tell whether it depends on the dish.
- Time limit: one post read a table notice limiting meals to 90 minutes.
- Cleanliness: three posts found it tidy, one noticed a slightly sticky floor.
- Not everyone is won over: two posts found nothing special and not worth the queue.
- Sweetness of the sauce: two posts found it sweet, one said it was not very sweet.
- No post describes going with children; high chairs appear only in copied listings.
- Phone: seven posts give 0507-1474-7402. People queue through Tabling or CatchTable; nobody wrote about booking by phone.
- Possible promotional posts: four posts follow a similar outline, call kal-naksae new and reuse the restaurant's own copy. None disclose sponsorship, so we counted only what they describe experiencing.
