GYOJIBHAP

교집합 Gyojiphap Gyojiphap means 'intersection', the overlap of two sets in mathematics.

Compiled from 26 blog posts read in fullSources →

Gyojiphap is an Asian-fusion drinking spot on an alley off Bogwang-ro 55-gil, near exit 4 of Itaewon Station. It sits in a converted old house, with separate indoor rooms and an outdoor yard for drinking at night. It opens at 5 p.m. The usual order is Sichuan dongpo pork (35,000 won), Chinatown noodles (23,000 won) or chili kkanpunggi (30,000 won), with a 9,000-won highball or draft beer. Six posts say you order on your phone through a QR code at the table. We read 30 posts from December 2024 to October 2026, and 28 of them describe an actual visit. The menu and opening hours in 2025 posts differ from 2026 ones, and this page leads with the 2026 picture.

Rows without a count: 14 of 15 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The heat is about ramen level. Eleven posts call the food spicy. Three of them say the Chinatown noodles are about as hot as Jin Ramen, mild enough for people who don't handle spice well. One post found it not very hot but strongly seasoned.
  2. Seven posts booked ahead, through Catchtable or Naver. Several say the table was waiting with a RESERVED sign or a card bearing their name. One post says only 40 percent of tables and bar seats can be booked, but that repeats the shop's own notice, so we don't count it.
  3. The back-yard seating depends on the weather and the crowd. Four posts sat outside or saw the outdoor seats; one of them found the yard full and moved inside, and another found a single cramped terrace seat left and chose the dining room. A post from a Sunday evening in September 2026 says no outdoor tables were set up that day. One post says yard seating has a time limit when it is busy, and they gave up their table after about two hours.
  4. Seven posts say the staff were kind, and they say why: the dongpo pork was cut at the table, staff asked about coriander before serving, one table got extra coriander for free, and four posts mention a candy handed over on the way out. One post says a single foreign staff member was running the whole floor.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 26 posts

Assume no parking at the venue. The one post that drove says there was none and they parked at the Yongsan-gu Office. Several posts repeat 'no parking' and a public lot at 3,000 won an hour, but that is copied listing text, not something they found themselves.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 26 posts
Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 1 (of 26 posts read)

No post describes the floor from experience. Only the address says ground floor. The idea of a second storey appears only in copied listing text, and no one says whether the inner rooms and the yard are on the same level.

No post says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That means no one wrote about it, not that it is impossible. The walk from exit 4, though, goes down an outdoor stairway between buildings, as two posts describe from their own walk. We don't know of a step-free route.

Only one post covers the toilet: inside the venue and shared by men and women. Another mentions only the décor on the way there. No one says how many stalls there are or how big it is.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Posts disagree on space. Two found it roomy, and one said it never felt cramped. Three found it tight: not large, two-seat tables close together, not many seats. Noise splits two to two: two posts found it calm, while the other two describe it as loud and pub-like, with music that made conversation hard.
  • No post had to wait. One arrived around 6:45 on a weekend evening and was seated inside right away. Another walked in around 6 on a Saturday but saw a queue by the time they left around 8. So later arrivals may wait, but no post gives a waiting time.
  • Four posts walked from the station. They put it at five to ten minutes from exit 4 of Itaewon Station, and two say it is a little hard to find without a map. The 258-meter figure is copied from the listing. No one came by bus.
  • The opening hours changed. 2025 posts (January, May and November) list Tuesday to Thursday 6 p.m. to midnight and Sunday 5 to 11 p.m. Fifteen posts from July 2026 on all list Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday 5 p.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., and closed Mondays. All fifteen copy the registered hours, though. A December 2024 post notes that year-end hours were different.
  • The menu has turned over. Posts from December 2024 to May 2025 mention yellowtail with som tam, tamarind pasta, lamb green curry, tom yum ramen, duck breast and mala cuttlefish. None of these show up in 2026 posts, which have tiger-prawn pasta, tomato beef nabe and sesame tofu chicken instead. A November 2025 post notes the cuttlefish dish was already gone, and a September 2026 visitor went back because the lineup had changed. Dongpo pork at 35,000 won and the noodles at 23,000 won stayed the same.
  • What a meal costs depends on the order. Two 2026 posts where two people shared noodles, cucumber, tofu chicken and two highballs add up to 64,000 won at menu prices; no post gives a receipt total. Mains run 23,000 to 35,000 won, small plates 9,000 to 14,000, and highballs and draft beer 9,000. One post paid 20,000 won corkage for its own wine on a Friday. Free weekday corkage with a Naver booking comes from the shop's own notice.
  • There are two phone numbers. Nine posts give 0507-1367-0913, and two give 010-2950-2644 for private rooms, buyouts and group bookings. No post says they booked by phone; those who booked used Catchtable or Naver.
  • Some of these posts are promotion. Three posts titled 'Itaewon bar … birthday party' went up on the same day, 24 July 2026, and a September 2026 post carries sponsorship tags. The birthday champagne tower, private rooms and the yard 'converted from a garage' appear in matching wording across posts, which points to the shop's own copy, so we don't rely on them. One March 2025 post discloses a free meal. Five posts say they paid their own way.
