Gimsillyeok Pocha

김실력포차 Sillyeok means skill or ability, so the name reads roughly as Kim's Skill Pocha; pocha is short for pojangmacha, a casual Korean drinking spot.

A late-night pocha on Itaewon-ro 27ga-gil, behind the Hamilton Hotel near Itaewon Station. The menu runs to stews, hot pots, beef tartare and fried chicken; posts list fried chicken at 28,000 won, yukhoe at 28,000, bulgogi hot pot at 27,000 and draft beer at 6,500 a glass. We read 3 posts, from August to September 2026, all from people who went: two had chicken and draft beer, one had yukhoe and soju at 2:30 on a Saturday morning.

What sets it apart

  1. All three posts say portions are large: two describe the chicken arriving piled high in a big basket, and one says the yukhoe was generous.
  2. The free bar snack is Kkoedori, an old-school candy, according to two posts. One adds that the chicken comes with seasoned sauce, pickled radish, a bone bin and plastic gloves at no extra charge.
  3. Two posts say a receipt review gets you the 10,000-won candied sweet potato free; one got it that way, the other ordered it without realising.
  4. Both posts that had the chicken call the batter crisp. One describes a thick coating, mildly spicy brine, no stale-chicken smell, and says it stayed crisp as it cooled.

Getting inside

The registered address says basement level 1, while the place address copied into all three posts says ground floor. No one describes going down or up, beyond one mention of more tables half a floor up. We don't know which floor it is on.

No post mentions steps or a threshold at the door, or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That means we don't know, not that there are none.

One post shows the restroom and calls it very pleasant, but no one says whether it is inside the premises. Separate men's and women's restrooms appear only in a copied info block, so we did not count it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Two posts say it is close to the station, about 3 minutes from Itaewon Station or right by Exit 2. Nobody mentions buses.
  • No one says they waited. One post says even weekend queues move fast; another found it more than half full on a Sunday evening.
  • Only one post says who they went with (two women, friends); the other two don't say.
  • Opening hours appear in only one post, as a copied info block: Sunday to Thursday 5 pm to 4:30 am, Friday and Saturday 5 pm to 9 am. No two posts confirm them.
  • Each price comes from a single post, and none gives a total for the meal. One says no dish tops 30,000 won, another calls prices fair for the location.
  • The phone number 0507-1383-3139 appears only in one post's copied info block. One post says reservations are taken except Friday and Saturday, but nobody says they booked.
  • The two September 2026 posts follow the same template, the same chicken-and-two-beers order and the same block of hashtags. Neither discloses sponsorship, but they may be promotional.
