Amdwaeji Oyang Sikgwan
암돼지 오양식관 Amdwaeji means 'sow' — the shop says it serves domestic sow pork; Oyang is the name it shares with the first branch in the Oyang building near Gwanghwamun, and sikgwan is another word for an eatery.

A kimchi-stew and sow-pork grill place in the basement of the YMCA annex on Jongno 11-gil, a few minutes from Jonggak Station exit 3. It is the second branch of Oyang Sikgwan; the first, the one shown on the TV show Jeon Hyun-moo's Plan, is in the Oyang building near Gwanghwamun. It did not move — both branches exist. The kimchi stew is 10,000 won a person in posts from July 2025 on and 9,000 won before that; many posts add a rolled omelette, or grill pork belly in the evening (16,000 won per 200 g). We read 29 posts dated October 2024 to October 2026; 14 are about this branch, and 13 of those describe a visit. The other 15 are about the Gwanghwamun branch or other places, and we left them out.

Rows without a count: 3 of 7 posts.
Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Side dishes and lettuce wraps come from a self-serve bar; eight posts say so, and one lists kale and angelica besides lettuce and perilla. Several posts say rice is unlimited if each person orders a stew.
- It is underground but large: six of the seven posts that describe the space call it big, and three mention a separate area or seats for solo diners. The '250 seats' figure is something one writer was told.
- Food comes fast: two posts say the stew arrived as soon as they ordered, and three mention a bottle of stock on each table for topping up the stew yourself — one writer first took it for watermelon juice.
- Four posts say the stew is generous with pork; one notes the big chunks had simply sunk to the bottom.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | 5 of 10 posts |
|---|---|
| Lift to the floor | yes 0 · no 1 (of 10 posts read) |
Five posts describe going down to the basement; one says plainly that you have to walk down.
No one says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in; we only know you walk down to the basement.
No post says whether the toilet is inside the restaurant; separate men's and women's toilets appear only in one copied listing. That means we don't know, not that there isn't one.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 11 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Prices went up: posts from October 2024 to April 2025 give 9,000 won for the stew and 7,000 for the omelette; posts from July 2025 give 10,000 and 8,000. No post about this branch prices the Oyang set. Nobody called it expensive; two posts called it good value.
- Many posts are about the Gwanghwamun branch instead. The TV appearance, the 206 seats, the 26,000-won Oyang set, the evening specials and the number 02-732-8088 belong to that branch, and we did not count them here.
- Five posts agree on opening hours of 11:00-22:00 with a 14:30-16:00 break and Sundays closed, and three say Saturdays end at 21:00 — mostly copied from listings. One October 2024 post says it opens at 10:00.
- Three posts give the phone number 02-737-8088; one gave the Gwanghwamun branch's number instead. Bookings are mentioned only in a copied listing.
- Only one post talks about waiting: no queue at noon on a weekday. Nobody describes the lunch rush or evening waits.
- Two posts came with family and one with a school reunion group. None mentions friends or a date, though some saw people eating alone.
