The Ikseon-dong branch of Standard Bread, a Seoul milk-bread chain, set at the far end of a hanok alley at Donhwamun-ro 11da-gil 40. You cross a planted courtyard on a glass path into a timber-raftered hanok, pick loaves onto a tray at the counter, and sit down with coffee or brunch. Loaves run from 4,900 won for the classic milk bread to 8,900 won for the salted loaf wearing a chocolate-cookie gat hat; brunch plates from 16,900 won (crème brûlée French toast) to 19,900 won (salmon Benedict); the americano is 5,000 won. We read 29 posts dated 20 August to 8 October 2026; 18 record an actual visit. The rest are about other branches or only pass by. An August post describes the shop as newly opened.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Seven posts noted mostly foreign customers — one weekday-afternoon visitor saw almost no Koreans at all. Several describe tourists queuing to photograph the hat-wearing bread figures at the entrance.
  2. Five posts mention a review promotion: post a Naver or Kakao Map review, show it at the counter, and you get a whole-loaf rusk. Those who ate it called it crunchy-sweet, a little hard.
  3. Six posts describe sit-down seating split into rooms on either side of and behind the counter. One notes the tables are mostly for two, so larger groups should ask about joining them, and warns that parts of the hanok ceiling feel about 170 cm high — watch your head carrying a tray.
  4. Three posts, all weekday visits, found it quiet — low music, and a smaller room to the right of the counter good for talking. Nobody described a weekend.

  1. Three posts noted a Wi-Fi QR code on every table.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Toilet inside2 of 17 posts

No visitor said which floor the shop is on or whether stairs are involved; the '1F' in the address is copied text.

Nobody wrote about wheelchair or stroller access or a step at the door — unknown, not absent. One post notes you enter across a glass walkway, another that the glass was slippery in rain, and a third saw steps and level changes inside.

Two posts say the toilet is inside the shop — one called it fairly clean, the other noted it sits away from the seating. Nobody said whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 20 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Waiting splits one to one: one weekday visitor waited about five minutes for a table, another found no wait at a weekday lunch. One notes tables free up around 5–6 pm. No post describes a weekend.
  • No visitor described the walk from a station; '3 minutes from Jongno 3-ga exit 3' appears only in copied info blocks.
  • Nine posts give the same hours — daily 09:00–19:30, last order 19:00, brunch until 17:30 — all copied from info blocks. One post says 09:00–21:30 but also has the street number wrong. No post mentions a closing day.
  • One post called the prices steep but the food good. A brunch plate plus coffee comes to over 20,000 won by the listed prices, though nobody wrote down a total bill.
  • Four posts list the phone number 02-3277-0897 in info blocks; nobody asked whether reservations are taken.
  • Two posts disagree on what occupied the site before — one says a dessert shop called Silladang, the other a Thai restaurant. Neither is this shop, so we did not split the timeline.
