Ikseondon
익선돈 Ikseon is the neighborhood, Ikseon-dong, and don (豚) means pig — a pork-only house in Ikseon-dong.

Ikseondon is a pork house in the barbecue alley of Ikseon-dong, just north of Jongno 3-ga station (21 Donhwamun-ro 11ga-gil). People come for kimchi-and-onion pork belly or neck (18,000 won per 180 g portion), finish with squid-ink kimchi fried rice pressed into the shape of a coal briquette (7,000 won), and most of them come for the outdoor tables set out in the alley. Since September 2026 the menu adds oak-smoked raw pork belly and neck (18,000 won per 180 g) that staff grill at your table, odol galbi has become a 9,900-won side, and closing time moved to 11 pm. In posts from March to July the meat all came fully cooked from the kitchen and odol galbi was a 16,000-won main. We read 30 posts dated 23 March to 8 October 2026: 27 are first-hand visits, two are multi-restaurant lists and one was about a different restaurant, so we left it out.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Expect to wait in the evening and at weekends. Eleven posts waited: 10 minutes (weekend), about 20 minutes (weekend evening), 40 minutes plus another 10, about an hour, and 'over an hour and a half' on a weekday evening. One couple joined the CatchTable queue at 5 pm on a weekend as number 15 and got in at 7:40 pm; the queue for outdoor seats was in the 70s by then. Three posts walked straight in: at the 3 pm opening, early on a weekday evening, and at 8 pm on an October weekday. You join the queue on a CatchTable tablet outside the door. One post missed the 3-minute window to answer the 'your table is ready' message and had the place cancelled until a staff member restored it; another found three groups already waiting although the app showed no queue, because the tablet had been switched on late. One post mentions several chairs beside the shop to wait on.
- Twenty posts mention the outdoor tables in the alley, and they are the main draw. Accounts of how many there are differ: one post counted 7 terrace tables, another 'about 3'. One October post saw a note on the table limiting outdoor seats to two hours; another sat out in heavy rain under clear plastic sheeting without trouble. In March and April posts the outdoor area was sometimes closed for the cold with a heater inside, or the plastic awning was rolled up from early evening. Several posts ended up indoors because the outside was full; four found the inside roomier than expected.
- Eight posts from March to July 2026 said the meat comes fully cooked from the kitchen, so you never grill it yourself; two said it takes 10–15 minutes after ordering, and one found the food a little slow for that reason. Three September posts describe something different: oak-smoked raw pork grilled at the table by the owner or staff, who put pieces on your plate. The split falls by date, so on a visit now expect the smoked pork to be grilled at your table.
- Views on portions split six to three. Six posts found them generous (two portions of kimchi pork belly, the steamed egg, the radish noodles, the acorn-jelly soup). Of the three that found them small, two were about the odol galbi, which comes with cartilage, and one about a single portion of meat.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 5 of 26 posts |
|---|---|
| Separate restrooms | yes 0 · no 1 (of 26 posts read) |
No one described the floor or any stairs from their own visit; only the address says ground floor.
No post mentions a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or pushchair gets in — that means we don't know, not that there is none. One family went with three children but said nothing about a pushchair.
Five posts say the toilet is inside the restaurant. One of them notes it is unisex and quite cramped; another calls it clean.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- How the meat is cooked, and the menu, changed between August and September 2026. Posts through July say the meat came cooked from the kitchen; September posts say staff grill it at the table. One September post noted that odol galbi had gone from a main (220 g, 16,000 won) to a side (150 g, 9,900 won), and an October post found the old 220 g / 16,000 won price still on the wall menu, at odds with the kiosk.
- Opening hours have changed. Posts through July 2026 copied weekdays 3 pm–11:55 pm, weekends noon–11:55 pm, last order 11:25 pm (one said noon every day). Six posts from September give an 11 pm close, five of them with last order at 10 pm, and one September 12 post found ordering really did stop at 10 pm. Most give a 3 pm opening; one says 1 pm. These hours are mostly copied from Naver, and one August post listing 'closed Monday to Wednesday' contradicts itself, so we did not use its closing days.
- Four posts walked from exit 6 of Jongno 3-ga station. Many copy '131 m from exit 6', but one post that walked it took 5–6 minutes, and another got a little lost in the alleys.
- Price per meal: one October post paid 48,000 won for two portions of meat, the steamed egg and a bottle of soju for two; an April receipt shows 50,000 won for one portion each of neck and belly plus a noodle side and the fried rice. One post called it on the pricey side; another said the meat isn't expensive but the sides add up. Yogurt makgeolli is listed at 8,000 won in May and 6,000 won on the October kiosk.
- No post made an actual reservation; the CatchTable the posts mention is a remote waitlist, not a booking. Most posts give the phone number 0507-1384-8743; one gives 02-766-8743.
- 'Uses only Sunjin Pork Korean pork', 'grade-1 domestic sow' and the Handon-certified sign are the shop's own claims, copied by bloggers, so we don't rely on them. One September post reads like promotional copy lifted from the shop's description, and two multi-restaurant list posts were left out of the counts.
