Appippore
아삐뽀레 Several posts say the name is French for a 'gentle forest' (the café's Instagram handle is appiforet), and the hanok courtyard is filled with plants and animal statues to match.

Appippore is a dessert café tucked inside the Ikseon-dong hanok lanes in Jongno, Seoul. A large white giraffe statue stands in the middle of its square hanok courtyard, surrounded by a lion in a gat, monkeys, flowers and potted plants. It mainly serves bingsu, gelato and croffles; prices in the posts are 27,000 won for mango bingsu, 29,000 for strawberry, 24,000 for red bean, and 5,800 for an iced americano. One post noted you order at the counter, with no kiosk. We read 30 posts from 25 May to 30 September 2026; 29 describe an actual visit, and one is a list of 27 Jongno spots.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Space is what posts mention most: ten said the café is large, and some noted the tables are set well apart. One post from a public holiday in August 2026, though, said it was so full that three of them squeezed onto a table for two.
- Eight posts called it expensive. With bingsu at 24,000 to 29,000 won a bowl, writers compared a mango bingsu to the price of a fried chicken, and one felt the 29,000-won strawberry bingsu was short on fruit. Several of those same posts still liked the taste.
- Even the courtyard is air-conditioned. Five midsummer posts said it was cool inside; one noted the courtyard roof had been closed over, another saw a large air conditioner by the toilets and fans running throughout.
- Leaving a review gets you a traditional silk lucky pouch. Six posts mentioned it; two had expected a gift inside and found it was just the pouch.
1 more
- Two posts waited: three groups ahead on a Sunday afternoon in June, and one group ahead (about 10 minutes) on an August public holiday. Two more posts warned of weekend waits but did not experience one, so we did not count them.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 3 of 26 posts |

| Separate restrooms | 2 of 26 posts |
No post described the floor level from experience; only the address says ground floor.
No post mentioned a step at the entrance or going in with a wheelchair or stroller. One post's 'wheelchair accessible' line was copied from the listing, so we did not count it. One post noted the courtyard floor is stone paving.
Three posts said the toilet is inside the café. Three described the same layout, a shared sink behind one door with one stall each for men and women, and one of them felt it was effectively unisex.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 27 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Posts disagree on a one-item-per-person rule. Two June 2026 posts ordered fewer items than people without trouble; one post from 15 August said the rule applied and a bingsu counted as two.
- Portions split two to two: two posts found the red bean bingsu and chocolate gelato generous, two found the gelato smaller than expected.
- Two posts called the courtyard seating outdoors, but others describe it as roofed over or covered by a white canopy, so whether it is truly open-air is unclear.
- No post described walking there from Jongno 3-ga station; the 'distance from Exit 4' lines are copied listing info.
- Twelve posts gave opening hours and ten say 9:30 to 22:00, mostly copied from the listing. A 7 June 2026 post gave 21:30 and a 10 August post 21:00 as closing time. Four posts list last orders at 21:10.
- Six posts list the same phone number, 0507-1357-0276, but none tried booking; the one 'reservations' mention was copied from the listing.
