Gomi Donkkaseu Geondae Bonjeom

고미돈까스 건대본점 Donkkaseu is the Korean name for the breaded pork cutlet (from Japanese tonkatsu), and Geondae Bonjeom means the Konkuk University flagship; none of the posts explains what Gomi means.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Western-style (gyeongyangsik) pork-cutlet house on the second floor of a building right outside Konkuk University's back gate. The basic Gomi cutlet is 9,900 won; cheese, sweet-potato and combo plates run 13,900 to 19,500 won. You order and pay on a tablet at your table, collect your tray when your number is called, and return your dishes yourself; rice, cream soup, udon broth and side dishes come from a self-serve bar. We read 30 posts dated 18 June to 13 October 2026, 28 of them from people who ate there. Twenty-one land between 2 and 13 October with similar wording and structure; one discloses sponsorship, one says the writer paid, and the rest say nothing either way.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Nineteen posts said you can go back for more rice and soup. The bar was described as holding cabbage salad, macaroni, pickled radish, pickles, pickled peppers, kimchi, black rice, cream soup and udon broth. Two posts warned that the salad and macaroni already come on the cutlet plate, so there is no need to load up first.
  2. Seventeen posts ordered on the table tablet or kiosk. Food isn't brought to you; you pick it up when your number is called. Seven posts mentioned a separate takeout tablet or kiosk by the entrance.
  3. Twenty posts said the portions are large, describing a cutlet as thick as a finger and as big as an adult's palm. One said a big-eating husband left food, another that a friend took leftovers home. Two said the two-cutlet double is only for very big eaters.
  4. Seventeen posts called the meat thick and three called it on the thin side. Seventeen said the coating was crisp; one said the amount of sauce made it hard to notice any crunch.

  1. Twelve posts called the prices easy on the wallet; none called it expensive. The basic cutlet was 9,900 won from June through October. One family of three paid 22,800 won for two cutlets and a skewer; one post got 1,000 won off for paying cash or by transfer. Eight posts mentioned a free can of soda for posting a receipt review.
  2. Eleven posts walked from Exit 3 of Children's Grand Park station (Line 7), calling it five or six minutes. One noted it is much closer from there than from Konkuk Univ. station.

Parking

3 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot3 of 28 posts

There is no restaurant parking: all three posts that addressed it from experience said so, one adding that street and alley parking is not possible. The one post that drove parked inside Konkuk University and walked over. Several posts repeat that campus parking through the Geonguk gate is paid, but that is copied information; nobody reported what they paid.

Getting inside

Second floor14 of 28 posts
Toilet inside1 of 28 posts
Separate restroomsyes 1 · no 1 (of 28 posts read)

Fourteen posts placed the restaurant on the second floor from their own visit, reached by stairs beside a photo studio on the ground floor (one also named the Hansot lunchbox shop). Several noted a menu banner at street level so you can choose before climbing. Three sat at the windows.

No post mentions a basement; fourteen place it on the second floor and none mention seating on any other level.

Five posts climbed stairs to get in; none mentioned a lift or a step at the door. We don't know whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That doesn't mean there is no lift, only that nobody wrote about one.

Only one post said the restroom is inside the restaurant, and none mentioned an accessible toilet. Beyond that we don't know.

The restroom is disputed: one post said it is inside the restaurant with separate men's and women's stalls and was clean; another listed a unisex restroom as a drawback. At one each we can't settle it. A 'separate restrooms' line in other posts was copied from the listing and not counted.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post reported waiting for a table. Three found the hall quiet or empty, and a weekly regular said it only gets a little crowded at the lunch peak. Many posts noticed a constant stream of delivery orders, and one said these backed up the kitchen right after opening; three said food came out quickly. Nobody wrote about weekend lunch waits.
  • Of posts that said who they came with, nine came as a couple, one with a friend and one as a family with a child. Nobody wrote about eating there alone; several mention seeing solo diners, but none of them were the writer.
  • Twenty-three posts gave opening hours and 21 agree on 10:30 to 23:00 (18 add a 22:00 last order). One June 2026 post said it opens at 10:00 and one October post said it closes at 22:00. Most of these are copied listing blocks; a few say there is no afternoon break and no regular closing day. Nobody wrote about holiday hours.
  • Fifteen posts list the phone number as 0507-1364-9291; one gives 02-499-9291. Reservations appear only in copied listing info and in one roundup post mentioning CatchTable remote queuing; no one wrote about actually booking.
  • Many posts look templated: 21 arrived between 2 and 13 October 2026, repeating the same phrases (soup and bread like an old-school cutlet house) and the tablet's how-to-eat tips in a similar order. Only one discloses sponsorship, so we can't tell which others were sponsored visits. We ignored the verdicts and counted only what people said they ate and saw.
